Today my family and I visited this specific Pei Wei location and after arriving we sat in a booth. As I sat down and brushed my feet under the table, a part of the booth that was pushed out, sliced the back of my ankle tearing off a whole chunk of skin. Of course I was bleeding non stop so I went to the counter immediately and asked for a bandaid. The worker proceeded to just look at me in confusion and continued bagging orders while talking to the other worker. After multiple times asking for a bandaid I light heartedly proceeded to make a joke stating “well geez do you want a lawsuit or to give me a bandaid”. Of course that’s when it caught the workers attention and she went to grab her manager. Manager comes out asking what happened, I explained and told him I just needed a bandaid and I’m fine i’ll just take care of it when I get home. After a couple minutes of the manager asking me questions and getting the story he went to the back and got a bandaid finally! After the manager comes back from speaking with his boss on the phone, he tells me they don’t have paperwork for me to fill out and so if I want to make a report i’d have to call. Manager then asks for my information yet gave me no information. That’s not even the worst part! As we’re wrapping up the conversation the manager proceeds to state because I made a “joke” it “scared” his 16 yr old worker. So he says “see she is the kid but you’re acting like the kid”!! I’m sorry excuse me? I’m acting like a kid because I just got hurt by YOUR restaurant booth and I asked for a bandaid to which I was met with stares and ignorance? Forgive me for trying to lighten the mood when your company hires inconsiderate employees who made ME feel like the uncomfortable one! After the manager made that comment I replied back with a question as to how this situation makes me a kid? He then shut down my question stating he did not say that, I replied “You did, verbatim”. That’s when he stated “he was done here” and walked away. As my family and I were leaving we were exchanging confusion as to what literally just happened!!? We were in shock being treated like that honestly. We love the food we get here, we are very frequent customers, and my sister even works at a location in Florida which I was excited about visiting soon. So this is a sad loss but no way will I be spending my hard earned money on an insensitive company with zero lick of hospitality.
As for the cut wound on the back of my ankle, it’s a pretty dent not gonna lie, multiple layers of skin gone & a burning sensation i’ll have to bear a few days. I’ll buy the necessities to keep it clean & hope for the best but I will be calling and getting the number to make a report. After the embarrassment and situation that was made instead of a resolution and remorse, there needs to be steps...
Read moreI visited Pei Wei at 9610 TX-151 Suite 105, San Antonio, TX 78251 yesterday. I ordered the Hot Honey chicken with rice and 4 dumplings. It is the only meal I ate yesterday. I am now experiencing severe lower stomach cramps, nonstop diarrhea, and vomiting. I'm starting to get chills as well.
I don't know if the food wasn't cooked well or if I was served food that had been left out. I've been awake for 4 hours in pain and discomfort that still has yet to subside. This was my first and possibly last time eating here.
Update: I've changed everything to 1 star. After I spoke to RICHARD, who claims to be the general manager, he did not care whatsoever about the fact I was given food poisoning from this location. He never once apologized and forced me to come in person to get a refund because he didn't want to process it on the phone until later. When I asked him to confirm the amount of the refund to be sure it was equal to what I paid, he did not want to provide me with the number. Despite me giving him the receipt number like he asked, he stated that doesn't help him find the price even though he initially told me it would. I then told him exactly what I ordered and what time it was placed, and he was still unwilling to help me. I asked him why I needed to come in person for him to do his job right away when I'm throwing up and sweating. When I came in person, it took almost 10 minutes for him to process the refund. It's almost like he was reluctant to do so or he wanted to refund a lesser amount than I paid. I don't know how someone as uncaring and cruel as this man acquired a management position. I had the decrease the service star from 3 to 1...
Read moreThis is what I hate about Pei Wei -- and this Wender Plaza location is no different -- they are EXTREMELY inconsistent. Sometimes, when you have a good chef, you'll get a nice, full meal, seasoned perfectly. Then (more often than not), you get a meal like I got today at this location. Forget for just a moment that it looks like slop thrown together. What I'm more concerned about is that I paid $12.59 + tax for this. It had no flavor except "sweet." And the measly few shrimp that I did get had that dreaded iodine taste -- you know, that taste that only comes from cheap, frozen shrimp. We have had some good meals from this Pei Wei location, but it's starting to be more bad meals than good. Time to stop...
