I drove from Houston after 11 days without power. Hurricane Beryl directly hit my neighborhood. I was incredibly exhausted and I was thankful to be in ac as were my kids. The lazy river is short you can literally go around the whole thing in less than five minutes. My kids absolutely loved the two slides at first, until the nightmare started. The pool staff really need to do better. I tried to ask them to help me put an umbrella up, five of them just sat there in the towel hut staring at me and another guest struggling to put it up. I’m 5 foot tall. The other lady was barely 5’2. It was nearly impossible without standing on one of the lawn chairs, which could’ve been a catastrophe had one of us fallen off. Absolutely ridiculous for the price you pay to bring your family here. You should definitely get better service. Not to mention how are you observing the safety of your guest when you’re constantly on your phones? ESPECIALLY as slippery as the concrete is.. Oh my gosh. Please be careful, my 5 year old grandson slipped and fell flat on his back bruising and scraping his back and sides. Thank God he didn’t bust his head open. Maintenance guys near the slide, dropping F bombs like they’re in the “streets” 🤦🏻♀️ This is why it’s only a 3 star hotel. The employees including the McSUPERVISOR JULIA, who proudly proclaimed her position, offered to get security to escort my family and I back to our rooms, “to take a little break” is hilarious to me because I came to that place to take a break. As a business owner I’m constantly under pressure, then to top it off, the Beryl situation. And the funny thing is, Julia walked up to me, AFTER one of her employees tried to “confront” me while I was sitting there LITERALLY filing an invoice and running a payment for one of MY clients. 🤣🤣 I wish I could make this whole review up. I wish this wasn’t all true. The level of harassment, drama, and discrimination is beyond my comprehension… I really wanted so badly to give this place 5 stars. Because my little boy actually picked it out… Unfortunately this whole trip left me feeling completely disappointed. The front desk service I appreciate and they were very helpful when letting them know that our TV and the remote control were not paired. Therefore, we were unable to use the TV the first night we stayed however it was totally fine because we were all exhausted. We visit several resorts several times a year and generally speaking I would NOT recommend Wild Oak Ranch. We literally could not even enjoy ourselves, as every five minutes the pool staff was saying something to one of my kids, what is the point of having slides and a pool designed to entertain children if your children cannot have a good time? This place looks like it’s for kids, but with all the drinking, drunk adults, and incompetent pool staff, beer cans everywhere this place is more like an adult resort that lures you in with “kid stuff” As a single mother and business owner, I have a lot of responsibilities, I work hard all year long, like everyone else. I work to provide my family and myself a getaway from the stress of every day life. I come here and I’m stressed out, not only by the pool staff, but now the maintenance staff is yelling at my kids, like, don’t you have maintenance issues to attend to? Rather than standing around talking to the pool staff females and yelling at my kids???? And believe me I could understand if my children were tearing up the property or just completely misbehaving, but they’re just little kids having fun. The ONLY thing they were doing is going down the slides too fast. These people completely singled my family out, made us feel totally unwelcome, ostracized, and basically so embarrassed that I literally moved from my seat, to the very back in the second row to get away from them. I had already asked the manager Malea (who was very nice and professional) to have her staff just please leave my family and I alone. The pool staff need to be retrained. They lack basic customer service skills, including children with...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Vacation Ranch in San Antonio, and while the property might seem appealing on the surface, it fell far short of expectations — especially given the cost and the Hyatt brand behind it.||First off, the signage and lighting are absolutely awful. The resort is poorly marked, and the lack of adequate street lighting creates real problems — not only for navigation in an unfamiliar place but also for safety, especially with children crossing streets in the dark.||When I checked in, I was given a map to help locate my accommodations — but the staff member pointed it out while holding the map upside down, sending me to the wrong building entirely. I was looking for a 9 and should have been looking for a 6. It took a couple people, but someone finally helped direct me.. Not a great first impression.||Accessibility was a major issue throughout the property. If you have any kind of mobility limitation, this is not the place for you. There’s no close parking to key areas like the pool or restaurant. You’re forced to park at your room and walk significant distances — sometimes including stairs — to get anywhere. While there is a back sidewalk to the pool that avoids the stairs, it adds even more walking. Simply put, it’s not set up with inclusivity or ease in mind. I asked 5 employees about accessibility. The first three said there is no handicap accessible access to the pool, another finally pointed out that I could walk to the back side of the pool and there is a closed gate that you can open to walk all the way back down a path to the pool from that side. ||Speaking of the pool: it’s clearly designed only for kids, with water only 3 to 4 feet deep throughout. Adults looking to swim will be sorely disappointed.||Other maintenance and facility issues included an elevator that made disturbing noises, especially when reaching the third floor. It was loud, unsettling, and sounded like it might give out at any moment. Additionally, the vending area listed on the map had no vending machine at all — just an old ice machine and a greasy spot on the floor.||One of the most frustrating things was the $60 cleaning fee. I’m still trying to understand what that covered, considering guests are required to strip their beds, collect all the towels and dishes, and essentially handle most of the cleanup themselves. Paying a premium for a DIY checkout process is hard to justify.||Activities were almost exclusively for children. The only “adult” amenities seemed to be a fire pit (which couldn’t be used due to wind) and an outdoor movie setup — but even the movies were cartoons clearly intended for younger audiences. There were no adult-focused activities or entertainment options to speak of.||We stayed in a “studio” that has what they said was a kitchenette. If you are expecting to cook rather than buy your kids $10+ dollar hamburgers off their kids menu, the studio is not for you. It had exactly the same “kitchen” as a Super 8 with the exception of dishes. They had a coffee pot, microwave, and a mini fridge. Not really what I would call a kitchen. I was hoping to be able to cook eggs since right now that is a special treat to spend money on…. LOL||To sum it up: this property is more like an overpriced motel with a kid-friendly focus than the resort experience you might expect. Families with small children might enjoy the stay, but if you’re an adult looking for a relaxing getaway, or if you have any physical limitations, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. ||Ironically, I asked one of the people at the front desk what sets it apart from a motel. It seems to be exactly the same amenities for a whole lot more money and headaches. He responded the only real difference is price…. We checked out a day early and stayed in a motel where were closer to things to do since this is out a ways from many things and construction made it that much more difficult to get from this property to...
Read moreHyatt white horse ranch|Room: Issues |Location: Hyatt vacation club wild Oak Ranch|Amenities: Good|Breakfast: non food choices |Employees: Carlos, Mr. Mancini, Jocelyn, Tyler, Randall, Isabel, Nakia, Joseph and Aldo|Dislikes: Erin Murphy ( uninformative ), employees, no real restaurant, loud, slamming doors, issues in our room, loud washing machine, loud dishwasher that doesn’t fit in its space. Our jet tub wouldn’t turn off spraying water everywhere. Kitchen cabinet doors, not soft closing and slam loud. Loudest room, Cleaners! Every single door as they went in and out they allowed to slam!||Can’t really say that I was impressed with check-in. ERIN that checked us in did the motions and try to get us out of there as soon as possible. I had to ask her where her room was, and that’s when she pulled out a map. The rooms should be in buildings that have the name on them as well as the number, I swear, she said building six, turns out it was building 11 not where she showed me on the map . Also, once we got in our room trying to connect to Wi-Fi there was nothing written down at any of our paperwork, so I had to call the front desk. It should’ve been mentioned to us. She handed us a piece of paper telling us that we were there on a promotional offer. But didn’t verify the time, I had to look at it on the paperwork. Some employees seem to be ill informed. And, not very friendly.|Our one bedroom is nice, the bed is OK, amenities in there are pretty good, love the big bathtub. Until we filled it up and turned the Jets on and then the Jets could not turn off water went everywhere. We had to call maintenance to come turn it off from the breaker. Love the large TVs. Couch is not comfortable. And they have very loud, slamming doors, how hard would it be to do something about that very annoying!!! The fridge is too big for the space not all cabinets open. The dishwasher when you open the door to load tilts forward because it was never secured in place cabinets to earth are allowed closing, if you don’t catch them, they slam every time. |Pool area, although very busy but we did enjoy it. I love the lazy river although too many people were saving the tubes when they were not using it. I ordered two Virgin Mary’s that means bloody Mary’s with no alcohol and they were over eight dollars each, not happy about that. Pool area was fun and we met some great patrons.|Now let’s talk about the restaurant, they’re really non-restaurant. You have this big resort with lots of families and this is what you offer, it’s pathetic. I wouldn’t eat there, even if they gave me free meals.|I guess I would have to say this place is good if you have little children which we don’t. We ended up meeting some great people like Carlos, Mr. Mancini and my new found friends. If it wasn’t for them, I would’ve given this place a one star. |For us, it was not worth the money that we paid in advance to secure our stay. In other words, the dislikes outweigh the...
