Schlotzsky's — Restaurant in San Antonio

Writing from two visits I give three stars my first visit was outstanding my cashier and the drive-thru was very personable and even engaged me in conversation while we waited on our sandwich food texture was very good and great first visit overall experience outstanding. Second visit disappointed I stayed 3 minutes away looking at the time 8:38 I arrive at 8:44 driving by the front window seeing inside I saw three employees standing in the huddle in front all looking at me driving towards the drive-thru that look was apparent I don't want to serve you anything we're ready to go home pull into the drive-thru someone says sorry our machines are down at the moment and it will be 30 minutes before it will come back up as in come back in 30 minutes which it closes at 16 so I just said that's a lie you close at 9:00 y'all just don't want to work anymore and the person tried to deny it but I knew what it was and I just drove off seeing there was a person ahead of me in line waiting on their order how is it that someone arriving in a few minutes before me can get an order but I could not I get it I understand 8:45 15 minutes left to work and the shift ready to go home but if the advertisement says you're open till 9:00 employees should be working till close time went over 20 years in customer service industry I was disappointed in my...

I went through the drive through and waited at the order menu. I waited for someone to answer, even asked "hello?" Three differ times! A line formed behind me. I scooted my car up, to see if that would do anything, Idk what I did wrong! I assumed it wasn't working, so I drove to the window. And low and behold the lady is taking orders from the order menu! I apologized when she opened the window, obviously she was annoyed, but took my order there and told me she'd get my order done asap and to pull to the front of the store. I saw all the cars that were behind me leave w their orders AND new customers come and go! It took 20 mins to get my order and I had to get down and ask where was my order. The lady just STARED me down when I talked to the other person in the front. I got my order and they over packed the stupid bag and it tore when I picked up the back from the car. I went to Schlotzsky’s today, and let me tell you. FORGET ABOUT IT! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the friendliest staff I’ve ever met. The place was spotless, they had the news on, and the whole team had great energy. Mary Jane was super patient taking my order, and Angel, Jesse, and Erick went above and beyond to make sure I didn’t have to get up for a single thing, not even a refill or napkins. Talk about service, forget about it!

Now let’s talk about the food, I ordered the turkey sandwich with extra turkey, forget about it and I’m telling you right now, forget about it this was the best sandwich I’ve ever had. That fresh, warm, soft bread they bake right there in house? Forget about it! The flavor, the texture, the freshness, every bite was perfect. You can’t get this kind of quality just anywhere.
