When you get ready to go wedding-cake/cake-shop hunting, you'll immediately be drawn to the $$$- $$$$ for above average to premium. But when you're on a budget, and you're goal is still perfection... well... You'll be shopping around for a while and end up doing it all.... Allow me to ease your mind for a moment, and straight up tell you, this place is hands down, a goldmine, and here's why:
#1 It's family owned and operated. So you know this is their bread and butter (no pun intended;), so they truly care about every piece that's being served.
#2 This family are dessert professionals. In other words, they are cake artists. Bring on your design, I did. My wife and I wanted something elegant, beautiful, and natural. We had ideas and brought them. I was caught off guard by a magazine clipping of a cake that was exactly what we were wanting. Some serious eye candy. I propositioned the idea to the cake artist, not knowing their skill level. It was nothing to them. These guys are straight up experts... and they delivered beyond my expectations... All I have to say is stunning cake!
#3 OK, so budget and design good so far, how about price. Affordable is all I can say. Wayyyy to good to be true.
#4 How about taste... So here are my results.... Best cake I've ever had at a wedding... I'll say it again... Best Cake I've ever had at a wedding!!! And it was ours!!! What??? Yup.. It's true!!! Perfect balance of sugars, butters, frosting, flavors, and visual presentation.
So if this isn't good enough of a review, to advise you that Sweet Secrets needs to be your place to go, then I don't know what to tell ya.
#5 Customer service... Perfect! You're greeted with smiles and they can talk about cake all day long. This is their passion. So make sure you order what you need, time is of the essence. One of the coolest services they provided was calling me and keeping me in the loop, once we got closer to the time. Quick call for peace of mind by assuring us they're still on schedule, and nothing would interfere with the promised product, including set-up and delivery. That's personal, and rare. You just don't get that type of service. Get this... To make sure my wife and I were surprised, we weren't allowed to see our cake till after we said our vows and were at the reception. Why? Because they take sooo much pride, and promised to deliver, a perfect product. And yes... we were shocked.
So here are some photos of my wife and I, and the cake. And yes, those are real flowers. Like I said. Exactly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI needed a last minute cake for my sons 4th birthday. What I wanted was a white cake lined with orange icing on the bottom and top because she does not work with fondant and certain colors. I bought decorations and stickers for the cake on Amazon because again, āthey donāt work with certain colors or fondantā. She was very excited and took the order. She stated it would look cuter a tinted yellow. I expected a TINTED yellow because I wanted white to begin with. What I received what extremely yellow, horrible looking. But I stayed optimistic because I had bought the cake decor. When I got home, I opened the cake box to only find the cake is bumpy, crooked, lopsided, and just a complete mess⦠completely freaking out, I messaged her asking if it was supposed to look that way. She told me no... Let me sayā¦. I have worked in the food industry for 3 years and the customer service was HORRIBLE. She was EXTREMELY rude! She blamed it on me telling me it was either the transportation or the way it was handled and I stated it was handled VERY carefully left alone so no one could have messed it up⦠she proceeded to be extremely rude and argumentative to the point where I had to just stop messaging her. I have ordered expensive cakes in the past so I know how they look and taste. This tasted like an H-E-B cake for $52 and for āhomemade buttercream frostingā, looked HORRIBLE, completely collapsed when trying to cut, and the terrible, rude, customer service just tops it off. NEVER again!! Very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe cake I got tasted like Duncan Hines cake mix and the frosting tasted like Pillsbury frosting in fact I'm sure it was!!, I texted them the picture of the cake I wanted mind you the toppings I was told they couldn't make because it was fondant okay so I purchased the small items from the dollar tree store (small make up items) and gave it to them to put on top of the cake and it looked sloppy and to me it looked like a child had frosted this cake also they were supposed to put gold colored beads (edible)at the bottom trim of the cake and instead they sprinkle some wilted flower petals all around and I did not ask or agree to this!, this was my first time going there and I'll never go back!!, people that tasted the cake said this taste like Pillsbury or Duncan hines, I've eaten plenty of cakes in my life time to know the difference and I know there's nothing wrong with my palette any way I paid for the cake in advance 50 bucks okay I'll take this loss but I know they'll never see me buy day of there items ever again, first time last time, and no I don't want a discount or refund I don't want anything from them even if it was "free" cause their quality is ššso much for trying to help community businesses "stay in business" during...
