I've been a guest at this location for 2 weeks, as of 25 May 2018. I was disappointed with the room - the A/C didn't work and the condition of the room was mediocre at best - the bedspreads having cigarette holes burned into in them - overall the room smelled of stale cigarette smoke and damp. The faux wood floors were EXTREMELY dirty - the bottoms of my feet were BLACK with grime, I ended up scrubbing the floor i twice the first day using 4 buckets of hot water and Mr. Clean - the water in the first 2 buckets was black when I emptied them out into the toilet - the 3rd grayish, the 4th bucket of water was reasonably clean. There was grime on the bathroom door frame and on most of the light switch plates - which I also cleaned off. The inside of the front door was very dirty and smudged as were both sides of the bathroom door - I cleaned both doors with hot water and Mr. Clean. I also noted that all the cabinet doors in the kitchen were streaked with grease and tacky/sticky to the touch - as was the wall around the cook top - I took care of the cleaning myself. Additionally all the baseboards were dirty and marked up - again I took care of it with Mr. Clean and hot water.
I found the room to have a significant ant problem - again I took care of it with some ant spray and a good cleaning.
The mirror over the dresser had been tagged with what appeared to be some sort of gang graffiti - your cleaning staff seeing fit to leave it there. I removed it quite easily using a washcloth and some nail polish remover.
As I said earlier, the AC did not work well the first two nights - one of the managers comped one night for me. I asked for maintenance, which was done next day. I did notice that the AC unit was missing both filters and the metal fins around the coils were CAKED with dirt and lint, I cleaned it and the AC began to function somewhat better. The room is very damp with the sheets on the bed near the AC feeling damp to the touch.
Finally, I was disappointed to find that the "fully equipped kitchen" consisted of 1 pot, NO silverware, NO other cookware, nor plates - I used most of my own items to make up the shortage.
For this experience - I've paid $749.25 - not including the man hours I spent cleaning the room. I'm to have this privilege again on 24 May 2018 - however I know the room will be clean - as I spent a good 6-7 hours cleaning it. The good thing is, I now know that if I lose my job in IT, I'd make a darn fine cleaning person...
Read moreI travel to Texas once a year to visit my teenage son. I look for a chain that offers a kitchen, safety, cleanliness,and a great value. I booked through the website for a week stay. I arrived on the chosen day a little early (2:15) was told the room was not ready yet as it was being cleaned. I returned a little after 3 checked in to what was to be CLEANED room. Imagine my surprise and horror when I opened the door to room 107 the very first thing I saw was a fortune from a fortune cookie, food all over the floor, long black hair everywhere, on the floor on the counters, in the sink, the sink faucet was so covered in soap scum you couldn't tell what color it was, the room smelled like a dirty gym locker. The bed spread was covered in some red/pink substance the sheets were stained with p__cker tracks. There were no pillows on the bed and no trash cans in my "fully" equipped kitchen. I spoke with the clerk who just rolled her eyes and said that " guest steal everything". I woke up the next morning to enjoy my morning coffee and to cook some breakfast and found the coffeepot did not work. I went to the cupboard to pull out a frying pan and found a 1 quart sauce pan and 2 much larger lids were all the cookware that were in my "fully" equipped kitchen. The towels were stained and smelled musty. The stove top had to be scrubbed before I could even cook with the frying pan I had to go to Target to buy. The kitchen table was covered in food crumbs and more long black hair. I complained to the front desk when they opened at noon (unfortunately a full 8 hours after I woke up and had needed my coffee and breakfast) they would send someone to clean the room again and bring pots and pans. My son and I went out for the day and returned to find a half cleaned room most of the food and paper had been swept up the room still smelled like a dirty gym locker and the mirrors in the bath and on the closets was still covered in spit and filth. All the linens in this place need to be replaced holes, stains, and filth. The towel rack in the bathroom was scotch taped to the wall and the bath fan does not work hence the musty humid condition exist. During the week I received linen service which is they take everything not nailed down and leave no replacements. The concept is simple take a dirty towel leave a clean one not take everything and leave no replacements as you don't have enough to go around. I feel I should have stayed in the office...
Read moreI must admit that I have stayed at several of your locaitions and had never had to make one complaint. Unfortunately, I've had to make several at this one on Louis Pasture Court...on my very first night I fell in tube due to water being under it ( manufacturer fault) and had no towles to top ,but Jodi ( propert manager) handles it with swiftly moving me to another room..I was very upset and she went above and beyond to help ,changed my mind about leaving . My stay didn't get any better,same problem with tub just not as bad,took a few day for them to get people out to fix . That was only the start ,the room itself was dirty took me almost a day to clean.Due to the nature of my job I couldn't move locations ,so again I informed management and was again made to feel satisfied. Then roaches ,again Jodi handles it with stride. Being that I was in contact with manager, I learn that she was new here as well and was trying her best to clean up this location, again making me feel o.k. There's a constant police activity due to unhealthy activity of certain guest and their criminal activity ,again was made to safe,again Jodi taken it in stride.Then another manager was added and well to me she need to review what coustermer service was,her name was Athea ( she was from out town) she was stand offish and her lack of care for her guest made me uncomfortable and upset. She would place a note on your door , rather then speak to you,even if she was just in front of you. I was also bothered by not only her attitude toward things that needed to be done ,very unsettling. The laundry room was alway filthy and most of the time the washer and dryer were not in working condition and it was very frustrating, then vending machines was tampered with an illegal swip machine was put on it and guess credit card were compromised, I myself brought to management attition and it took days for them to get vendor out to change it, again Athea didn't even put sign to make guest aware not to use it...again very bad judgment on her part.When I brought this to the attition of regional manager Oscer...he was not helpful at first wanting to evict me for my complaints, I made it very clear to him that he would rather dismiss me then work on getting this location to meet the standard most Studio6 and Motel 6 are required to meet,he spoke down to me ,told me that " I AM A PRODUCT OF THE ENVIRONMENT " I told him "NO ",I AM A PRODUCT OF OF THE ENVIRONMENT...
