This was my first visit. I had a fierce craving for Indian cuisine and I did an internet search for the best authentic Indian cuisine in San Antonio and this place made the cut. I ordered veggie samosas and shrimp pakoras. These are fried appetizers. I will say that the drive back to Cibolo pretty much obliterated any crispiness they had going on. Taste wise they were good though. I also ordered the shrimp biryani, tarka dal fry, and mushroom matar masala. The amount of biryani they gave me was huge with a capital H. Everything was pretty good but my absolute favorite was the tarka dal fry. Very flavorful. I ordered everything in a medium spice level, but I think I'll go up a spice level next time. I got a container of basmati rice with these dishes. I forgot to order naan which was an idiotic move on my part so don't forget to order it. I also ordered the mango lassi for the road. Holy mother of goodness, it was delicious. If you like the subtle tanginess and creaminess of yogurt and the sweetness and flavor of mango, this is worth a try. I was sad when I realized it was all gone. They went to great lengths in securing my to go order. The styrofoam containers were either wrapped in plastic wrap or taped shut. The liquid entrees were in secure plastic containers. Not one drop was spilled on my long drive back home. The man at the front, I'm assuming owner, was very pleasant...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter going to many Indian restaurants and being excited this place had so many positive reviews, we tried it and unfortunately did not live up to the expectations. The tandoori mixed plate did not taste like it was made in tandoor but grabbed from the buffet (which tasted like it was made in regular oven) and slapped onto my plate and they cut some extra meats and threw it on there. It was covered in a wet sweet sauce which I am not accustomed to, resembled some chinese dish. I chose this plate from the menu and was disappointed. The Naan all tasted the same from the garlic naan, onion naan and the regular naan. I could not taste the difference. The only naan that tasted different was the chilli naan. The mango milkshake tasted exactly like mango lassi and was room temperature. I dont know why you would put that on the menu if there is no difference. Everything else was alright. The rice was not hot and tasted very generic no spices or anything in it. For someone who hasn't tried Indian food, this may be the place to start with but for the more experienced, I'd recommend Indian Oven. I felt their food was more flavorful and their naan is wonderful. I hope this business learns from their mistakes because it seems they are cutting a lot of corners and charging the same as other places with better quality. They either need to lower their prices or increase...

If you're hungry and can't wait in a buffet line of maybe 5 minutes max, then learn some patience. Naan comes out fresh to every table. They are short staffed so be patient for the naan too. The manager/owner and staff are so sweet and diligently working! Waters are refilled constantly and no container contact is made when refilling! Skills brah.
Then the food....delicious! Only one of the 4 masala buffet dishes is spicy. They have a fresh spicy sauce they make that adds a perfect spice to any dish. I enjoy none-mild spice and could eat every dish at this buffet enjoyably without added spice. The mango pudding is not too sweet. Pairs well wilth the rice pudding and even most delicious with those dessert balls, gulab jamun. My husband ate his first buffet plate without added spices and 2nd plate with added spices...he was in heaven. He had his desserts separately and thought they were decent. Then he tried the desserts mixed like mine...he was sold.
We will definitely return here. Next time with our kids, a no spice 6 yr old and a give him all the spices 8 yr old. Great prices, even menu items! Less than $12/person...
