This place was amazing. Went here on a whim for a friend's birthday and were very happy we did. The service was excellent. The woman who served us, who I assume is the owner or at least family gave us lots of recommendations, brought out samples of the different Thai teas for is to try and was very helpful. We each ordered one of fhe Thai teas or lemonades and they were all delicious and refreshing. I had the Thai green tea and my friends had the Thai black tea and the Purple Lemonade. We ordered some summer rolls for an appetizer. They were good, but the real star of the show was the peanut sauce that came with them. That stuff was delicious! For the main course I got Pad See Ew with chicken. I got brave and ordered it medium spice level. I have to say, it was sooooo good. It came out fresh and piping hot. The balance of noodles to other ingredients was perfect and the flavor was amazing. I probably should have ordered it mild, but that's on me. I know better when it comes to Thai spice levels. Even with it being a little hotter than I would have liked, I had no problem eating it because it was that good. For dessert we got some of the sticky rice with mango which is always a winner and it did not disappoint. The rice was warm and sweet and sticky like it should be and the mango was perfectly ripe. Definitely would return to this place to try more dishes because everything was so good.

Food is great, but the service is the best! I’ve always seen this place but I finally got to check it out. They are so friendly and nice that when I said it was my first time there, and wasn’t sure what to get, they explained the lunch menu and described a few of the dishes. Most people don’t take the time to do that. I got Pad Thai with fried tofu to go, and it was so good! I also got a Thai coffee as a pick me up during the work lunch. My favorite thing is that they gave me a little congee while waiting for my order. My favorite food is lugaw which is similar to congee, but no restaurant ever serves it! I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu, but now I know when I get sick, there’s a place to order congee as a comfort meal.

Great little place hidden in the corner end of strip center and behind a Valero. Pretty authentic Thai food. Also enjoyed that they had in seat dining and they were not busy inside. They do a wonderful togo business. Be careful when asked about spiciness because even the MILD spicy will tingle you lips some. Cheese rolls were pretty good as well as the Summer Roll appetizers. I had the Pad See Ewe which was delicious and wife had the Nam Tok Soup after asking the waitresses for the Beef Noodle Soup. Waitress stated the broth was thicker and more flavorful on that one. She was right, cleared up my wifes stuffy nose and she dearly loved the broth. And that was coming from a very picky eater! Give them a try 😉

This place is a serious gem, the best Thai food I have ever had in San Antonio. We had the pla rod prik red snapper and we were completely blown away by the flavor. It was incredibly tender and easy to avoid bone, the skin was crispy while the inside was incredibly juicy. The veggies it was served with were a flavor explosion. We also did the jungle noodles and the drunken noodles. They did not skimp out of shrimp portions and they were big! My friend is a picky eater and loved them! I ordered my drunken noodles hot and they came out perfect. Definitely spicy and makes you sweat! One thing about other Thai places I’ve noticed in SA is you can order Thai hot and it’ll still be bland, the heat isn’t consistent. But here? Amazing. The peanut sauce is also divine, me and my friend joked we could eat it alone with a spoon. The Thai teas were so good and very diverse options, we had the Jamaica and the lemongrass which I’ve never tried before and it was completely different to what I thought! It tasted like fruit loops! I thought I was crazy then I asked my friend to try and they agreed! We were so stuffed so we didn’t get dessert but we were given samples of some homemade snacks, the lily crisp and fried rice noodles, both were amazing! The atmosphere is great and the servers will upsell you in the BEST way possible. You get to try so much and we were happy to buy & support a local business. The customer service was incredible, everyone work by was so kind and made us feel like a million bucks.

We’ve now found our favorite place and I wish I took pictures but we were so excited to dive into our meal we forgot. I would eat lunch here everyday if I didn’t...

I just walked out the door, and am sitting in my vehicle, because I want to make sure to get this review written. I was gassing up at the Valero in front of the building, saw the sign, and checked Google reviews, having never heard of this place. I drive over, notice they closed in 4 minutes, poke my head in and ask if they are still seating. I was told yes, after a brief moment of hesitation, but I said no I would try again later (I have worked food service, and been in this exact situation, no fun AT ALL!). She insisted I come in, and asked what I wanted to drink. As she brings my water, she picks up a menu, and I put my hands up, start shaking my head, and say no no, just bring me whatever you have leftover. She says, "We don't have any leftovers like you're thinking. We make every order fresh, so order whatever you'd like." I tell her what kind of curry I'm used to, and she goes to the kitchen, and next thing I know there is a glorious, steaming hot, gorgeous bowl of curry in front of me. It was DELICIOUS. I hadn't looked at the menu pricing at all, so I didn't know what to expect, and was blown away at how inexpensive my lunch was. I don't live in S.A., but every time I come to town, I will not miss a chance to hit up Tao's Thai Hot. In summary: awesome food, awesome service, awesome pricing,...
