October 10, 2025 As an educator I was appalled! 1 of the attendant was dismissive. Not sure if she was the clerk, manager, owner, or all of the above.
I went b/w 5:30 am & 5:45 am. I greeted the attendant with a cheerful attitude. She was an older more seasoned woman. She gave a dry greeting. I brushed it off because it was early in the morning and everyone is not a morning person.
As I proceeded to order two donuts, upon checkout I asked how much? I preceded to pay with a debit card, the attendant stated it would be a 90-cent extra charge. I stated I would be back because I'm sure I had change in my car. Before I walked out the door, the attendant was taking my two donuts out of the bag. She looked very frustrated as she put the donuts back into their display trays.
As I proceeded back into the donut shop with my change I requested a different donut. I requested a different donut because the original donuts I was going to get were returned to their trays. The attendant did not budge to re-bag my donuts.
As a result, I requested a separate donut, I was told no. The attendant stated she could not give the donut I requested to me because it was stuck to the other donuts, it was a larger twisted glaze donut. For this reason, I did not order any donuts. I turned my attention to the beverage dispenser/refrigerator.
I asked how much was a small bottle of water? The attendant stated $1.25. As I placed my money on the counter she stood away from the counter & myself. She looked at me hastily. I told her this is $1.25. She said ok. She did not come closer to verify, she did not give me a receipt, she just looked at me in terror, hostility, or discuss.
I took this as she did not want to accept my money, or business! I felt racially profiled. Nonetheless, I told her to have a good day, and proceeded out of the establishment.
Moreover, as an educator, I teach my scholar(s) to treat others the way they want to be treated.
As a former scholar, my classroom was extremely diverse. The scholars in my classroom represented more than 20 nations! I said all that to say, I have interacted with multiple people of diverse backgrounds throughout my life. I treat people non-judgement, with kindness, and respect. I did not appreciate the treat or the lack...
Read moreI go into Fresh Donuts two or three times a week for just donuts and on occasion, when they have milk, I will add a milk. It's always on my way to work. This morning there was a lade with four small children, one a baby, who placed a large order including iced coffees. I knew that would take some time so I asked if I could just get donuts, pay, and be on my way since I had to get to work. The lady spoke up that everyone needs to be somewhere. The woman behind the counter chose to keep me waiting. Keep in mind that my transaction would have taken but a minute. Well, Fresh Donuts has lost my business. There are plenty of donut shops. The one by Jack in the Box will be getting my business...
Read moreWanted some donuts for the morning. So I decided to stop here @ fresh donuts. I was greeted by two very friendly elderly couple. They were so friendly and welcoming. I opted on a dozen, which was 15 bucks. The donuts looked fresh, so I was excited for the fam bam and I to try them.
The donuts were tasty, but unfortunately, 15 minutes later, mega heartburn kicked in. In our experience with donuts that bring on heartburn is when places use old oil. I really wanted to love this donut shop. So, unfortunately, I can't recommend them unless you like a side of heartburn with...
