I wanted to love this place because like others have shared, we need a good Mexican place here in the community. I feel The have the potential to be better if they read some of these low rating posts. FYI I will a place a 4 or 5 star if the food was great, I don’t necessarily care if I waited a while or if the waiter forgot to refill my drink. That’s usually not a bid deal for me so here’s my honest review from a foodie who knows Mexican food and knows what good food should taste like. The red “salsa” that came with chips tastes like canned tomato sauce then they brought me green sauce and it tasted like canned green enchilada Sauce. If someone cannot do chip salsa go to Costco they have a really good authentic tasting salsa, blend it, and serve with chips, it will taste homemade. The chips should be served warm, but ok. My enchiladas had ok flavor except they were very dry. Not enough sauce and too much cheese, sauce could also go inside to make the chicken moist. The beans and rice were cooked right, but bland (fyi I usually like low sodium food but this was like oops I forgot to add chicken bouillon and oops I forgot to add salt to beans kinda thing). And we don’t need pico de gallo on the side of The enchiladas. My husband got a potato taco and a shredded beef taco. They were not served or prepared well. I would suggest to put shredded lettuce, “crema”, and queso fresco, NOT mozzarella cheese, on top of the crispy tacos and serve with a side of homemade tomato sauce to be able to pour over. I will go one more tome in a couple weeks to see if any improvements have been made and if our comments have been taken into consideration. I’m not being petty or picky, but I grew up with a Mexican born mom that did everything from scratch and who was a...
Read moreThe ambiance is nice. We were surprised to see staff just sitting, laughing and giggling with who we are guessing is the manager who was sitting in the corner, close to the register and on her tablet. The bottles of hot sauce were sticky and if the staff could be more mindful of the cleanliness then we wouldn't have to write about it. We understand to have fun in your job, but it seemed they were more focused on socializing then ensuring customers were cared for and ensuring areas were cleaned. Our waitress was very nice, but her attentiveness was lacking, she survived us our food and then we did not see her for the rest of our meal, no refills on drinks or water, did not come back to asked if there was anything we needed, and I don't think she ensure our order was correct before bringing it to us because I asked for no cheese in my food and there was a good amounts of cheese. I was not able to ask for a new order because she never came back. So I ended up deconstructing my food to get the cheese out. There was a big party that came in and we thought she was helping with that table, but that table had another waitress and our waitress was not to be found. I ordered the Milanesa torta, the meat was really dry, tough and tasted old, as if they fried it in old oil. The beans in the torta was flavorless. My husband had the enchilada plate (his go to item at any Mexican restaurant, his favorite) and unfortunately it did not sit well in his stomach. I am sad that this restaurant was a disappointment and underwhelming, we really had high hopes for this place especially because we do not have a lot of variety in the area. Hopefully with time maybe thing will improve. But as of now we will not be...
Read moreUnfortunately, the food here is not impressive and very bland. Here's the lowdown:
The chips n salsa were good. Chips needed more salt, but good. The flautas looked to be store bought and had no flavor. The rice was bland and tasteless. The beans were good. The carne asada was dry and tough. The birreia quesadilla was dry and the meat was tough as well. Likewise, it doesn't come with the consume..that is $2-$3 extra...really?!
Also, no soda fountain machine. Only soda by the can or bottle. Hence no refills.
The decor and seating is very nice.
When the waitress asked how our food was, I was honest and said very bland. I asked if the flautas were store-bought because they looked and tasted like that... they actually looked like taquitos.
The waitress did not know it they were handmade and had to go ask the cook. She came back and said they were handmade.... I highly doubt it.
A few minutes later the manager/lead came to the table and asked if there was a problem. I told her not a problem, just that the food was very bland and the flautas tasted store-bought. She took offense to what I said and told us that all the food is prepared there...AND told me that she was so suprised to hear what I thought of the food AND that I was the first complaint they received... doubtful after reading the reviews here.
Just to be clear, we didnt complain about the food. They asked how it was, and we were honest with what we thought about it.
It's a new restaurant, so hopefully they can improve and begin making more authentic, good tasting...
