I called to put in my order, 2 items- one congee and one beef chow fun. I was told it would take 25 minutes. We went to pick up after 20 minutes, the congee was sitting there and I was told chow fun was not ready yet. So I was standing with the people who were also waiting for their food. Because of the traffic, I needed to move around in order not to blocking anyone. At one point I was standing by the small table facing the kitchen. I was able to look into the kitchen and see all the actions. I was daydreaming a little thinking about all the YouTube video that I saw about Hong Kong street cooking. Then I heard two of the waitresses laughing and talking to each other-“she thinks her food will come out faster by looking at the kitchen.” What?!? That is how they treat their customer??? During the whole time I was standing there, I saw them trying to pass a dish that was sitting around (unwanted???) to another table. Lucky for that table, they refused to accept that dish too. They giggled again when the waitress returned the dish to the same corner. Finally after 1 hour and 15 minutes, I got the beef chow fun. Being said this place gets packed fast especially on weekends. It’s a great spot for rice porridge and other Cantonese comfort food.
