No a/c but that was doable for the most part, doubt that it will be one the summer gets into gear. Our dear friend brought a wonderful Sparkling Zinfandel from one of our favorite wineries. We told our waiter what it was and my friend directed him to put the corkage fee on his card. We had walked about 4 blocks to this restaurant from our friends place as we were leaving our car with him while we were in Spain for a month. The bottle sat on the table for about 10+ minutes while we chatted and ordered. Larry, our waiter came back and proceeded to open the bottle (without using a napkin on the cork and pointing the bottle right above our table, both of which are not proper and customary) and released a geyser which soiled our table, clothes as well as the wall with almost half the bottle!!!! After the fiasco rendered our table unihabitable, we moved to another. Larry brought us a Tide pen to use on our clothing which was useless, but he said we could keep it as they had hundreds of them, apparently this was not an isolated incident although when we asked Larry how the restaurant was going to compensate us for our ruined clothing arrogant and prideful Larry said "are you saying this was my fault? I've opened hundreds of bottles and this has never happened, you all must have done something to the bottle!!" Unbelievable!!!! What he should have done was apologize profusely and offer us a nice bottle of wine on the house since our lovely sparkling zin was sprayed all over the walls, table and our clothing.
After dinner, which was quite good actually, our friend was presented with a bill for the corkage fee which we promptly crumpled up and tossed to the floor.
Once we return from our extended vacay we shall see how the restaurant handles our request for restitution for our spilled Sparkling wine and soiled clothing..... to...
Read moreToday was a celebration for my birthday with my family which we had a great time with each other but the food and dinner service was not good.
The hostess that sat us today was not very nice or pleasant. I’ve been to this restaurant before and have never experienced this. When it came time for the dessert and to sing happy birthday the hostess took a long time to bring the dessert out. Her reasoning was she was focusing more on the party going on in the back. I thought that was not courteous of the restaurant to treat their other guests this way. I would never think it’s okay to treat guests as a less priority than the big party they booked. I ordered a crème brûlée and it came out runny and did not taste good. When we informed the hostess she just shrugged said sorry and walked away without offering to make it right.
Lastly I almost burned my fingers on the candle when I tried to take it out of the crème brûlée not knowing it was a trick candle and it would...
Read moreMy love for Italian cuisine brought me into West Coast Cafe. It is nestled amongst lots of little shops and a vast variety of eateries. We were warmly greeted and seated immediately. Our server sopped up the full glass of water I clumsily bumped over in a nano second! With a smile on her face! I ordered lasagna which was to die for! It was a generous portion that became 2 meals. Every bite was a party in my mouth! The bread was soft and wonderful.. refills were not a problem. To spend 40-50 bucks on a meal anymore is about average. I paid my check gladly! I finished off my lasagna the next day and it was just as good as the night before. The restaurant itself isn't very big so I can imagine the line around the block wanting to get in here. I really recommend West Coast Cafe if you're in the mood for some...
