I ordered an iced matcha latte and specifically asked for oat milk, but at pickup I saw one of the baristas top my drink off with whole milk. I left but came back shortly after to double check what milk they used and a second barista said in a weird tone that it was oat milk, to which I admitted that I saw them pour whole milk into it. A third barista who I presume was the manager came up and said that they did use whole milk but only to top it off, and offered to remake the drink. I am slightly sensitive to dairy but can tolerate small amounts of it so I said no to having it remade and took it anyway.
If this is a store policy, I urge the management to take another look into it. What if I was severely allergic to dairy and needed to go to a hospital because they (without notifying me) gave me a drink with milk I specifically did not ask for? Additionally, I paid extra for alternative milk, so I expected to receive that since it’s what I paid for. We also bought two pastries and did not receive them, even after coming back into the store.
I was very excited to try this place but will not be returning as I felt uncomfortable with the service. I am a barista of 3 years and believe we should hold each other to the same standard; this would NOT happen at my cafe. I ask that the staff acknowledge that my experience was a serious food safety issue. Had 3 days soft opening and then shut down for "maintenance" but in reality they "fired" most of the staff members without giving them proper notifications, or informing them. -Two, stolen menu from the now previous manager whom the owners said the feedbacks from customers weren't good but STILL USES her menu after they fired her given with the same exact reasons -Three: They had internal conflict with one of the co owners using illegal substance (coca cola) abuse in the bathroom. -Four: Health reasons, THEY USE TAP WATER BY THE WAY IN SAN BURNO. NO FILTERED FOR DRINKS. -Five: Please inform your staffs if they are still hired or fired properly. The owners and management were the unprofessionals whom locked the staffs out of their accounts to view their schedules and didn't inform them of if the staffs are still hired and if they still have to come to their shifts. Clearly violate labor laws, didn't notify staffs if they are still on roasters or if their scheduled shifts are still valid/ paid.
