Thank you so much....is what comes to mind when passing through those doors at Big 5 Sporting Goods! They have practically everything a person could need, when it comes to camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, watersports etc. Even stuff for your essential bike riding needs. And all this at a very low price! They have always been my "go to" place when it came to outdoor activity of the "nature" kind. But now in these days, where people have a little more time, ( may this be a positive or unfortunately negative disposition for some of us not being able to work), we tend to find our tranquility and peace by going "back to nature". May this be with friends or family, or both; Big 5 Sporting Goods is always there to assist you in making old long forgotten, or new experiences a pleasant one. Tents, hammocks, light, waterproof, steardy clothing is often essential to ones successful experience with the outdoors. Not to mention fun! They have been heavyly visited in the past few months, ant tend to run low at times on certain items such as camping equipment and hunting needs, firearms, air riffles, sleeping bags. But they replenish very quickly I've noticed, being a frequent shopper now. Of course you can always call one of their locations, as I did with the San Bruno location, so you know if an item is available. Also their website can be helpful. They are always friendly and informative!!! And also have great sales going on, with up to 50% off on wonderful items!!! I went to this store May 20, 2024 around 4:20pm. I was greeted by this lady at the counter with a sarcastic “good afternoon”. I didn’t think of it much at first. I was looking for pickleball paddle so went around the store and found where the paddles where. Since they were locked, decided to look around the store more. After a while, I saw the lady staff fixing the paddles assisted by a gentleman staff so I went to them to see the paddles I was interested in. I pointed to the lady the paddle I wanted but she shoved me off as if telling me not to touch the paddles, as if I was going to steal the paddles, so rude! I just let it go and told her which one I liked and she gave it to me. After checking the paddle, I told them I was buying them and the gentleman staff proceeded to the counter for my transaction. While transacting, I casually said that it looks like they’re having a tough day but he just stared at me. I asked if that is how they treat there customers with rudeness, but then again he kept silent. I got so pissed off that I didn’t continue with my purchase and just left. I’ve been to this store plenty of times but I didn’t experience such rudeness from the staff until today. I felt like I was treated like a thief or something. I am a paying customer and with these staffs attitude, I am definitely doing my business...

This Big 5 Sporting Goods store is an absolute disgrace. The customer service is shockingly awful, and it’s clear the staff have zero interest in helping anyone unless you happen to be their "preferred" type of customer. I went in, asked for a pair of shoes in a size 8, black—pretty simple, right? Not for the incompetence at this store. Instead, I was handed the wrong color and size three times. How hard is it to follow basic instructions?

To make it worse, I was left standing around for 15 minutes with no communication, only to have the employee casually stroll back and say, “We don’t have those,” then walk away without offering any alternatives. No attempt to help. No apology. Just complete disregard for my time and my business.

Meanwhile, it was obvious they were giving all their attention to other customers, ignoring anyone outside of their little circle. The lack of professionalism is astounding. The staff here can’t even do the simplest tasks, and they clearly don’t care about helping anyone who doesn’t fit their preferences. It’s insulting.

If you want to experience zero customer service, incompetence at every level, and staff who couldn’t care less about your business, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, avoid this store like the plague. A...
