I would give this spot a 5 but only if I didn't have to wait 10+ minutes for an acai bowl. Let me explain why. In entering the place was clean spotless which I liked!. I believe they had total of 5 employees working. When we walked in the place was empty I ordered my acai bowl and then after me my sister ordered a smoothie. After my sister ordered her smoothie one more customer was in line who ordered acai bowl as well total only 3 customers. Mind you they had 5 employees, when I placed my order I asked the young lady that it was a to go. After waiting 10+ minutes for an acai bowl she gave it to me as if it were going to be eaten there, then I asked for to go which kind of caused the top to over flow when she pressed the lid down as shown on the photo. She forgot to pack the utensils and napkins so then I had to ask her for it. Mind you the 5 employees is important to this because my sister had to wait 15+ minutes for her smoothie which wasn't so great since I think their AC was off or maybe not working but waiting that long indoor was hell. Not sure what the employees were doing just standing there or why they took so long to make it but the other customer also seemed like she waited a while for her acai bowl. I would assume with that much employees working you would expect fast service. I have gone to Bahia Bowls The Forum where they only had one employee and she took two orders and we waited no more than 5 minutes. I would advice hiring workers who are motivated at their job. This place has great acai bowls but doesn't make sense having that many workers and yet service...
Read moreThis was our first time visiting. We used to be regulars at the previous açaí bowl place that was here and decided to give the new business a try based on the positive reviews. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a great experience.
The pre-set bowl menu is more limited compared to other açaí places I frequent. We ordered three small bowls, mine was the cacao one. I asked to substitute the coconut topping for banana (since both are listed as $1 add-ons), thinking it would be a fair swap. I was told it would still be an upcharge, which didn’t make sense. I also removed toppings from my son’s bowl, but was informed that only fruit can be swapped for other fruit. Additionally, their version of a cacao bowl didn’t come with Nutella like other açaí bowl places, so to add it would be another charge.
The staff member could tell I was disappointed and said she’d waive the upcharge this time, but that I’d be charged in the future. Overall, it just felt like a lot of nickel-and-diming for something that should be more customizable. It was quite loud so I would suggest taking to go.
Out of the three of us, only one person enjoyed their bowl. For $42, we could have had a full breakfast elsewhere. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning. There are too many other places nearby with better flavor, more variety, and a more flexible,...
Read moreAfter my first smoothie (Good morning) I was hooked! I generally don’t trust chain smoothie shops, etc because they’ll often add sugars to the everything but this shop is local so they don’t do that here. Just real food and everything is organic! You can tell based on the quality of even their nut butters and honey, that they care about ingredients. It’s a bright, kid friendly atmosphere and my kids keep asking me to go there since I brought them in the other day. They loved the Islamorada bowl (pitaya base instead of acai) and Mindful Mint smoothie....
