Hi Neighbors/Community!
I felt compelled to express my discomfort with the hostile phone call I just endured when calling Round Table Pizza. Typically, I would address this to the business entity, but uh, it's a bit complicated, so i am writing to my community instead.
Please consider this before using your purchasing power at this restaurant.
Basically this is what happened:
I went online and my mobile device was not working with their website order form, so I decided to call instead. I called and a lady answered the phone. I introduced myself and asked to place an order for takeout. I mentioned one of the specials I could see online and the lady continued to take my order. I provided my address for delivery and she immediately and suddenly shouted at me -- I still don't know what compelled the nice lady on the phone to begin yelling at me, then to further compound my confusion she began saying I could not have delivery because I had to bring "AN ID FOR PROOF AND YOUR CREDIT CARD" (yes shouting, hence the caps) then promptly ended the call before I could respond, let alone figure out why I was the target for her rage. I decided to call back and try again (maybe it was just a bad moment). The phone rang and I asked if I could place an order -- I then became a confused and now verbally berated customer -- I asked to speak with the manager in a level tone and she slammed the phone to hang up on me after shouting "I AM THE MANAGER AND THE OWNER!"
I sat there, ear ringing. I mean, I moved to this area recently, this was a sh*tshow. Like I'm not sure why anyone would deserve such terrible treatment but I honestly have no clue as to why I would be the target here.
I didn't get pizza tonight lol
I truly hope this review helps you decide to use your purchasing power and not spend your hard earned dollars here. Like anywhere else is fine, there is a Round Table Pizza (if you have the desire) on Golden Lantern that (bonus!) doesn't verbally abuse their customers over the phone for ordering pizza at a pizza restaurant. The audacity.
Tl;Dr just go to another place, this restaurant is a terrible place to spend your money. Go...
Read moreYesterday with children we decided to go to get a pizza on a flyer which my daughter received at school for a good progress. I thought that we could go to any place closest to us. We went to the Round Table at 612 Camino De Los Mares, San Clemente, CA 92673. When I gave the ticket to the young guy at the checkout, he looked at it with surprise and asked the woman nearby to what it means, to which she immediately replied, that they do not give such a pizza, and we have to buy something. I asked her why? The ticket says that the purchase is not necessary, to which she again said that they do not accept Groupons (although I objected that this is not Groupon, and my daughter received a bonus for good progress in school). In general, I asked with whom can I talk about this? The answer was: I am the owner, and we do not accept such coupons (there was a feeling that if there was an opportunity, she would have put me out of the door at all without any arguments, etc.). As a result, the upset children...I’m disappointed left from there. For the first time here faced such a rude, unfriendly service. It turns out that in order to take advantage of such coupons, you also need to find out from a specific address, do they accept them? (According to the link from the coupon, this address must accept such coupons!) I thought if the network of pizzerias is one, then the rules are the same at any adress... (by the way, few months ago with the same coupon from the school we were in other network of a pizzeria, and there without question with pleasure my daughter got her pizza). Unpleasantly...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer of this store for over 25 years. Today I got hung up on by Gigi, the owner for asking for the same thing I’ve asked, a simple substitution of toppings.
She hung up on me and stated she had five customers in front of her. I was driving to the location while I was on the call and just happened to stop by about one minute later to make sure she understood my order.
The entire restaurant was empty. The five customers thing was a lie.
I feel for small businesses as a small business owner myself. But if you don’t take care of your regulars you won’t stay in business for long. She insisted on charging me $4 for pineapple and I refused.
This will be the last time I order from here, as much as I like Round Table Pizza. There’s a reason why it’s dying out.
The food is generally good, the service has always been garbage (especially the owner).
I feel sorry for her staff and I feel bad that this small business owner has forgotten her...
