My wife and I were looking up taco/burrito spots in the area because we were craving mexican food. We came across this place on google and decided to experiment with a new place, even though it had low ratings. We wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt, so we ordered one quesabirria taco, one cali burrito and a sprite can, since they ran out of sprite on fountain. Waited a long-time to get the food and even asked another gentlemen if he likes this place and he said, he only ordered his cubano sandwiches and they tend to always mess up his order, so it wasnt looking very optimistic from the start.. when we got our food, i checked it outside before walking away and seemed fine. When we got home to eat the food, her birria meat tasted bland, no flavor (we make better birria at home), the whole cali burrito was dry as heck, the meat was dehydrated like either they left the meat on a warmer too long or over-cooked it, not really sure tbh, and the fries were bland and overall lacked any flavor. Both were very disappointing. We would give ZERO stars if we could. As I've grown up in San Diego, and left for a few years, i was hoping to have good food, just not here. Stay away, unless you want sub-par mexican food....
Read moreUsed to be a great place, but over the years the quality became absolute garbage. Just ordered a Diabla shrimp burrito, taste was good as usual, but I had enough liquid come out to literally make a shrimp soup with. Their carnitas used to be fresh and crispy, now it tastes like it was boiled in funky sea water. Their California burritos (what they’re known for) has turned into tomato burritos with the extreme amount of pico de gallo they use in order to save money on Carne Asada (and fries?).
It's just not worth your money anymore. Head down the street towards helix high, and hit up super Oscars (or the other 3 taco shops in a 1 mile radius), all of them are better and worth far more for your hard earned money.
The only reason I gave two stars is because as always, santanas hot sauces are always on...
Read moreThis location has been going downhill in the last few months. Their "new menu" is filled with errors, as well as the 4 new drive through signs which literally say "Drive Trhu" completely trashy. Within the last 2 months it seems like the crew has constantly changed and the food is absolutely disgusting now. Their drive through speaker is broken so you can't hear anything, and when I asked if they planned on replacing it they said the owner wont let them. Salsa has consistently been at least a day or more old, and food is often served cold. I hardly ever write reviews, but after I clearly watched a cook SPIT IN MY FOOD AND CALL HIM OUT ON IT and refused a refund I figured I had to. Completely disgusting and trashy, this business should be avoided. Super Oscars a block down the street is...
