This ain't it. If you're looking for an authentic San Diego taco shop, just keep on driving. You hit 5 more in the next couple miles that are probably way better than this place.
Order was as follows: Carne Asada Fries with guac on the side. 2 Fish Tacos, no pico 2 Shrimp Tacos, no pico 1 Carne Asada burrito w/cheese $48+/-
The fries were very small. Forgot the guac on the side and was light handed on the sour cream. The carne was forgettable.
Both sets of tacos he forgot the request and added pico anyway. The fish was ok but seemed like frozen Tilapia. The shrimp was chopped up and flavorless.
The Carne Asada burrito was small and the cheese tasted kinda funky. Wasn't like a sharp cheddar but it definitely has a musk.. I didn't finish it.
The place was dead at dinner time on a Friday night which is a good thing I guess considering there was only 1 guy working. It was clean except for some dirty plates piled up at the trash can. The food was not greasy. I will not...
Read moreI've tried multiple dishes and they're all ok, fresh and made to order and fast. My complaint is they skimp on the meat amd cheese. Every time I order The Works breakfast burrito, it has mostly egg and potato (see pictures) and little meat or cheese and the rolled tacos have hardly any cheese. Their food is a little bland too. The old Super Oscars down the street had the best breakfast burritos, full of meat, rolled tacos had tons of cheese, but they were sold and became Better Buzz. One thing I love about certain Mexican food places is great salsa, but I swear their salsa bar is just cheap Herdez from a jar. The flavors of most entrees I've tried are really average, and bland, but fresh, which I appreciate. They combine the right ingredients but the Mexican seasoning is lacking, and could use a little punch of heat and tanginess. If they stopped skimping on meat and cheese, and got some better salsa, it...

Señor Taquero is a brand new taco spot that opened in July 2024, and everything looks pristine—beautiful light fixtures, sleek white walls, a modern black-and-white theme, and spacious black tables and chairs. They’ve even got a few TVs and a somewhat empty-looking restroom. The large kitchen area promises a lot of potential.
I went for the 3 Taco Special and tried the adobada, fish, and carnitas tacos. The adobada had perfectly marinated pork with rich flavors, and the carnitas were tender and flavorful. The fish taco was an excellent combo of crispy fried fish, mayo, and chopped cabbage—everything worked together nicely. I also ordered a carne asada taco as an extra, and the beef was cut to just the right size and seasoned perfectly.
The staff were super friendly, and while the place isn’t widely known yet, I really hope more people discover this hidden gem. It’s definitely...
