Where to even begin? We were feeling hungry this morning and I was craving some weekend, hungover curing food. The thought of menudo came to my head and so I googled " menudo near me" smh worst idea ever! Saw a 4.6 star avg on their Google page. So we decided to head over there. We were short on time, my friend order steak ranchero and I ordered the menudo. We saw three people had menudo on their table so I figured it must be good. I asked the cashier, who I later found out was the prep cook, that if the menudo was good and she looked at me basically saying are you serious? It is so good. Ok! I was excited! There was one burrito order in front of us so I figured this two dishes are basically already made. It shouldn't take that long. I was wrong, food took 25 min to come out. The actual cashier that came to work 8 minutes late brought us our food but forgot my soda and tortillas so I had to get up to ask for them. When I tasted the menudo it was so desabrido, which translates to lacking flavor. So bad, it didn't taste like anything. Just pure broth with no garlic nor salt. Weirdly bad. I was this close to returning and ask for a refund. I sucked it up and put a bunch of salt, lime, oregano. Got up to the table of the three people that had menudos, saw they only ate some of their menudos and left. I took their plate of cilantro and limes and used it for mine. Just bad. Then the bottled salsas they had the green was bad, as in inedible from being out in the open for a long time it went bad. The red one desabrida as well. My buddies ranchero steak was made with canned tomatoes and he could not find a jalapeño to save his life. I thought ranchero had some sort of chile in it? Never again going back and never again trusting reviews and Googles "near me"...

This hidden gem is tucked in the middle of a strip shopping center. The portions are very large. Three of us could finish two meals. We had a shredded beef Chimicanga and a #2 combo that consisted of a Chilli renello and enchilada. The Beef in the Chimicanga jad outstanding flavor. The relleno and enchilada were decent. The rice and bean on the side were very good. The tortilla chips were fresh, like right out of the fryer and 🔥 you fingers fresh. I have been eating here for a couple of months 2-3 times per week and they are awesome! I finally took a friend over there for lunch and she loved it so much that she had to go back and thank them again! My favorite meal in this cold winter has become the surf and Turf Chipotle fries and sometimes Adobado but everything I have tried is fresh and awesome and my friend had birria and carne asada tacos.
