After searching high and low for somewhere that could accommodate six of us, I kept coming back to this property. And wow, I am so glad I booked it. From start to finish, this stay was beyond what we imagined, it truly felt like a home away from home.

🏝 The Location
The location is unbeatable. There’s a convenience store literally steps away, which made grabbing quick essentials so easy. Costco and other shops are only a few minutes’ drive, so stocking up on groceries was a breeze. It’s tucked away enough to feel private and peaceful, but close enough to everything we needed.

🏡 The Space
We stayed in the bungalow, and it was absolutely perfect for our group of six. Spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, everyone had plenty of space and privacy. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, utensils, and everything you’d need to whip up meals. Honestly, we didn’t eat out much because it was so convenient (and fun!) to cook together here. On our first night, we fired up the BBQ on the patio and enjoyed a relaxing evening just like we would at home.

❄️ Comfort & Amenities
The little details made all the difference. The air conditioning kept the house cool, and with fans in each bedroom, everyone slept comfortably. The beds were cozy with soft pillows and extra blankets provided. Having two bathrooms for six people made getting ready so easy. Even parking was stress-free, plenty of spots right in front, no matter what time we came back.

What really sets this place apart is the hospitality. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the manager (Jeff, so welcoming and down-to-earth). Later, we met the owner, Josh, who went above and beyond. He was always quick to respond to our questions, checked in to make sure we were comfortable, and genuinely cared about our experience. That kind of personal touch is rare, and it made our stay extra special.

This property gave us everything we were looking for, comfort, convenience, and a place where we could truly relax and enjoy time together. When it came time to check out, none of us wanted to leave. That’s how you know it’s a good spot! We’re already talking about when we’ll be back.

Firstly, the communication I received from Joshua was top notch. He always responded quickly and is very friendly. Upon the day of our arrival, they gave us an early check in with no hassle and everything was contactless. The only people we saw were occasionally maintenance and cleaning crew.

The property itself was massive with a large hangout area with full bar, hammocks, plenty of chairs and sandy play area with corn hole and other games. The first night we arrived, we had the whole area to ourselves. Even throughout the weekend, it was never too full. Not only that, you can walk through the entire property without going to the street.

Now the house itself was perfect. I specifically rented out the surf loft. It had PLENTY of sleeping space and enough bathrooms to where I never had to wait for one. The kitchen was big enough to have 17 adults in there. Additionally the living room was big enough to hold easily 20+ people. On one wall from the living room had bar seating with a garage door that opened to the patio. The patio itself had a table, hanging chairs and a turfed area to hang where we had a few of us do some yoga.

I came here for my bachelor party. And while we weren’t the quietest bunch, we adhered to the noise policy as best we could and never got a complaint. The manager Scott was very attentive with replacing garbage bags, paper towels, toilet paper, etc whenever requested. If I am ever back in San Diego again, I will...

We stayed at Good Life Resorts in San Diego again this year for a convention after having a wonderful experience last year with Lorreto as our host. Unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite due to our host, Jeff.

Jeff repeatedly inserted himself into our conversations, taking up hours of our vacation time talking about unrelated topics. He was also very condescending when enforcing rules—often seeming to invent new ones daily. Nearly everything we did seemed to be an issue with him.

To make matters worse, whenever we had an actual problem with the house, Jeff was nowhere to be found. He even ignored requests for basic things like toiletries. One time he gave someone 1 roll of toilet paper for a house that had 3 bathroom that were all out. He even shut a door in one of the girls face when he was asked for something. It was frustrating and disappointing, especially after knowing how great the experience can be when managed properly.

The Internet was also an issue. The venue bosts high speed Internet but it was dismal at best. Our tv in the house couldn't even connect causing us to us our phones as hotspots anytime we needed to use the Internet.

I truly hope Good Life Resorts addresses this, because the property itself is great—but the hosting makes all the difference. I will not return if Jeff is there next year. Lorreto was the perfect host, quickly addressing all our needs and never being seen otherwise. Lorreto was also kind and accommodating with all the events we had planned....
