OMG! OMG! Fantastic! Superb! You can use as many words you want to praise their food, hospitality and mannerism. Love this place. I wish we lived in San Diego to visit them every weekend. I was in San Diego for our conference. First time for our family on West Coast. First morning, First day, googled few restaurants, liked the reviews and got there. After first visit, Casa Lahori was our favorite stop every day. I lived in Lahore for 10 years, have been living in Northeast for years, tried different restaurants in New York, DC, Virginia, you name it but one thing I can say for sure, their chappal kababs, you can not even find in Lahore. You can not go wrong with any item in their menu, chappal kabab, seekh kabab were my favorites. Daal was also amazing. Tandoori naan, mango lassi were great. We also tried Nehari, chanas, halwa puri, and butter chicken. Nehari might be spicy for some people’s taste but if you can tolerate the spice, taste was amazing! Everything was genuine, with unique taste, different from one gravy restaurants. The ambience and cleanliness was top quality. This is the first time we have ever visited the same restaurant on three consecutive days, yet each day we felt happier with the food and quality. My wife and kids loved it too. I wish we had more days in SanDiego. I have already recommended it to all my colleagues and family, it should be in must eat places whoever visit SanDiego. I wish I could give more than five stars. One last thing, our hotel was 20miles from them, and we still managed to go there every day. This is enough to tell you how great both husband and wife are and how amazing their food is…
Update: Management has changed since my review, I wish new management best...
Read moreMy husband and I visited Casa Lahori yesterday for lunch around 2 pm. It was a very random last minute plan - we were starving and we had an appointment at 2.30 pm. The minute we stepped inside the restaurant, the host greeted us graciously, with a big smile and guided us towards our table. He brought us our menus and we let him know that we were on a deadline and that we were very hungry. From that minute onwards, he worked to make sure that our bellies were full with delicious food and that we would make it to our appointment in time. He suggested butter chicken as one of the options that could be made quickly. We gave our order, and he was back at exactly 2:07 pm, and he said, "You have about 20 minutes to finish your meal. Enjoy!" We dug in like we had never had food before. While everything tastes good to someone who is starving, there is something about being given hot food by a person who actually cared about feeding us properly, that set our experience here apart. We felt like we were being fed with love - my husband in particular was reminded of how his mom would feed him hot rotis and sabzi. The food in itself was a class apart. This was one of the best butter chicken I've had in my life - delicious, creamy, just the right amount of flavor and spices. We gulfed down our food in 10 minutes. We were happy, restful and just very content. So, if you are ever looking for a restaurant to heal you - I would 100% recommend Casa Lahori. Their spices work like magic, and they...
Read moreI took my family here, when we walked in we saw the atmosphere which felt welcoming for us(Arabic on the wall). However, the owner Mustafa and the staff are deceitful. THIS PLACE DOES NOT SERVE HALAL FOOD. When I asked, he said it is. However I noticed that there was no certificate for halal meat. When I questioned him he said “oh we have a picture of it, let me get that to you” which I thought was odd then he put me on the phone with the owner who was condensing to me requesting to see the certificate. He then goes to explain that he buys his meat from some depot and that I can call them to verify which again doesn’t make sense. If you are serving halal then getting a certification shouldn’t be a problem. At the end he said “oh we are in process of getting it” clearly making up stuff as the convo went, otherwise they would have said that to begin with. Then I look at this big sign which said “halal just means clean meat” which then it all started to make sense. They are lying and even that sign was a weird one, the sign(not the certificate, pls see the pic) was taking a jab at “halal meat” I would not recommended this place. We had experience before where restaurants would lie, this is the most disrespectful and deceitful thing to do. This place does not serve halal meat and does nothing to prove otherwise. I don’t know why they operate this way but Don’t go here and don’t give your business to liars. This restaurant profits by...
