My wife and I were ready to visit our favorite Indian restaurant. I decided to check out the competition and after reading reviews, I felt compelled to try Charminar, instead! Bonus: proximity; saved time, and gas $. We typically order Butter Chicken, Chicken Biryani, Tandoori Chicken, and Chicken Tikka Masala! Add, mango lassi when the mood strikes. The verdict? The food was savory, default spice levels wonderful, chicken was tender, and blend of flavors were perfect for my taste. The Tandoori Chicken set the tone for the rest of the experience; loved it! Now for the ratings: Overall 4.75/5 great food, good service, fair value, nice ambiance. Superior experience to most $$ restaurants in the area. Value 4/5 not stingy with meat, but not generous either on two dishes. Still better than most. Tandoori Chicken 5/5 Order it, my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Want smoke infused flavor, you may not like. But judging on its own merits.. I find no fault. My only complaint is I would have liked another piece of chicken for the price! Chicken 65 Biryani 4.25/5 this dish was good, but a bit pricey. Love biryani? You wonât be disappointed. The portion was fair, but not their best. ($ better spent on more tandoori chicken!) Butter Chicken 4.5/5 great, but just a few more pieces of chicken or include basmati rice would perfect this meal. Naan (Garlic)(Chili Garlic Naan) 4.75/5 Naan is quite good, few places serve naan of this quality. No complaints here. The overall experience was great! I rarely feel that way about restaurants. End. To management: Letâs face it, no business is perfect and I want my feedback to be useful. (Hence ratings) I weigh value, service and âthe little thingsâ highly; and I believe all businesses have to up their game during inflationary times. This establishment was good, but not great in this category. I really am nitpicking, now! The food was a home run, now for âthe little thingsâ I am not a fan of places that make you buy rice for curries (minus biryani). Some businesses incorporate rice cost into the pricing model for entrees, others charge extra. Charging for rice starts to feel like Iâm being nickel-and-dimed, or, inability to connect with customers with more modest incomes. For fancier rice, a premium is fine, but youâre in Mira Mesa, not La Jolla/Del Mar; everyone is feeling the sting of inflationary pressure. Price accordingly. Next, the establishment is clean and classy compared to the lot/location. Feels like a good place for dates, coworkers, or friends to have a meal. One thing I didnât feel was that it was kid friendly. I want to bring my 10 year old, but the family vibe âmaybe by designâ wasnât there. Iâll visit again with the little one and see how she feels. Final nitpick, and itâs a doozy! The water was truly unspectacular. What a weird critique, eh? Serve chilled or iced water, or throw a lime, lemon, or cucumber slice.. do something, anything to make it interesting â room temperature water wasnât the best to contrast the heat from some of the dishes. I was thirsty, but the unspectacular water turned me off and I didnât care to pay for drinks marked up 5-10x cost. Also, I felt guilty drinking my âcomplimentary fountain drinkâ (aka. coke can), if youâre going to provide gifts to encourage patronage, do it w/ no strings. (Say, âif you enjoyed your experience, please kindly review on google/yelp; we hope to see you back soon!â. Thatâs it, else you have a bunch of folks complaining about in their reviews. I hope you take the feedback to heart. If not feasible (comp rice, better water, 15-20% more meat) then price it in, or have promos e.g buy 2 entrees, receive complimentary rice. Get creative, but keep prices steady; any higher and the value proposition is gone. Nitpicking aside, Charminar is a 5/5 establishment! Finito!

A Diwali Delight with Charminar Catering! We recently had the pleasure of availing Charminar Catering's services for our office Diwali celebration lunch, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The variety and taste of the Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes they provided were truly outstanding. The flavors were authentic, and each dish was prepared with utmost care and attention to detail. Our team of 40 people couldn't stop raving about the delicious spread that Charminar Catering curated for us. Paneer 65, Paneer butter masala, Chilli Chicken, Chicken butter masala, Paneer biryani with raita, garlic naan, plain naan and Gulab jamun were ordered. What impressed us equally was the thoughtful packaging. The food was neatly packed in food trays, and they also provided complementary to-go containers, bags, and more, ensuring that everyone could easily carry their share without any hassle. The abundance of these containers was especially appreciated, allowing us to share the Diwali joy with our colleagues who couldn't join in person. The punctuality of Charminar Catering deserves special mention. They not only met but exceeded our expectations by delivering the food to our office before the promised time. This timely service ensured that our Diwali celebration started on a high note, and everyone could enjoy the feast without any delays. The professionalism and attention to customer satisfaction exhibited by Charminar Catering are truly commendable. I would highly recommend their services for any corporate or personal event. Thank you, Charminar Catering, for making our Diwali celebration memorable with your delectable food and exceptional service. We look forward to availing your services again in the future!

đ°âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸đđ Charminar Indian Restaurant, bhai! Straight up, yahaan ka scene to 5 out of 5 star hai bawa. If you're on the lookout for the real deal, the top-notch Hyderabadi, North Indian, or Pakistani vibes, Charminar is asli jaadoo ka bawarchi. Now, let's get down to business â their Goat Biriyani is not just food, yaaro, it's art on a plate. Layers of flavors that'll make your taste buds do a full-on marfa. But hang on, you gotta hit 'em up on weekends 'cause that Biriyani is so good, phone battery se bhi fast vanish ho jaati re. Their roasted chicken is like a feast fit for a nawab, and the Kadhai goat or Kadhai paneer â spot on, bhai. Now, the Butter chicken â it's a tough nut to crack in the US, so I'll just say "jaane do yaaro." And wait for it â they were dishing out Tandoori Chai! Haan bhai, you heard it right â TANDOORI Chai! I didn't spot this even in Surrey, but lo and behold, San Diego's got the chai game must undi bhai. Flavor? 5 outta 5, no less! Planning my next grand entry just for that â it was a holiday special, yaaro. But hey, Charminar, the gang and I have a small request â where's the Falooda at? We're missing that sweet treat in the US, so hook us up, na! In a nutshell, Charminar Indian Restaurant in San Diego is the real deal, a Hyderabadi jannat away from home. If you wanna taste the flavor of the motherland, this is where the party's at. Main to diwaal kood ke bhi jata. Charminar, you're the real Hyderabadi MVP, no cap! My Recommendations: 1. Goat Dum Biriyani (ask them spicy if you like) 2. Mutton Ghee Roast 3. Tandoori Chicken 4. Garlic naan (or Chili Garlic Naan) 5. Kadhai Mutton / Kadhai Paneer 6. Qumani ka meetha (if they have)
