Golden Bagel — Restaurant in San Diego

Generally, if you get take outs just for bagels on a regular day, their bagels and spreads are decent. Unfortunately that was not the case for a dine in. I visited this place for a quick breakfast on the weekends. Order scrambled/golden bagel and onion bagel with garden vegetables spread. After waiting for more than 20 minutes and seeing people coming after us and leaving with their order, we asked about our order. The lady at the counter said and I quote “ it will come when it will come”. After another 15 minutes, we were told by them that they already had prepared our order and someone else might have taken it. I was gobsmacked. Then they said, none of the bagels we had order were available now. They replaced our bagels with a some horrible unappetising bagel and after 50 minutes wait, we left the place hungry because of the bagels and service we were given. I just stumbled upon this place while looking for a place to pull over and look for my sunglasses. I was excited when I saw bagel so I decided to give it a shot. Glad I did! It offers bagels, coffee drinks, fresh juices and smoothies. I got a breakfast bagel sandwich, a cup of coffee and a smoothie all for just over ten bucks. The smoothie list was hard to choose from because it had a lot of good options on it but I got the triple berry sunrise and it's delicious. The bagel was a little soft compared to normal bagels but it made it easier to eat as a sandwich. The decor was slightly dated, but it kinda added to the homey feel of the place. It reminded me a lot of a place in my hometown that I used to go to all the time. Yummy, friendly and priced well. If there was a ZERO stars for service this place would get it. Yes, the bagels are fresh and delicious. But there is zero customer service and zero accountability. In a hurry? They don’t care. Did you just order? They don’t care. Order online? Again, they don’t care. I placed my order online and when I showed up to pick it up, they were holding my bag behind the counter as if it were a hostage negotiation. Not one person available for me to complete my pickup.
