Wonderful Sushi — Restaurant in San Diego

I am a gastric bypass patient. Consequently high quality food is extremely important to me. Otherwise I can become ill. Good quality sushi is something I can eat. And Wonderful Sushi provides a surprisingly high quality sushi experience. While the prices are very reasonable this is not a discount sushi restaurant. The ratio of fish to rice is always right on. John and his wife, the owners, take quality very seriously. The sushi chefs Sean and June are very creative. and the waitresses, especially Lauren, are very knowledgable. Most important the fish is fresh, really fresh. I eat at Wonderful Sushi at least twice per week. I have always been satisfied. Tip well. They 'remember you. Oh, I almost forgot. Order the gyoza. Its the best anywhere. Matter of fact, the Bento box and Yakisoba are excellent as well. Great selections for your guests who may be skittish...

When my husband and I used to live in the area we used to go here often. The sushi is good at a great price with terrific service and we always enjoyed the outdoor seating. Today my daughter and I had some time to wait around town for her brother and she wanted sushi. I knew just the place! Plus I figured they were opened because they always had outdoor seating. It had been atleast a couple of years since I'd been there. The food was still good at a great price. Unfortunately the service was slower than I had expected so I'm glad I wasn't pressed for time. There weren't many tables filled however they were filling many takeout orders. I expect the delay in service was in part due to takeout and that it seemed as if they had a light staff. Been going here for years. I went ( was taken to ) Cafe Japengo in La Jolla a couple of weeks ago.. I used to be a regular years ago until the quality literally dropped through the floor.. Prices are still the highest around but ughhhhhhh.

I went searching for the good Sushi and found this place.. I have three places i go to regularly and this is one of them.. The quality is WELL above the rest and add to that their prices ( which have gone up just recently ) are still some of the best in the city. HIGHLY reccomend it to anyone who appreciates good fish etc. Don't forget the house Salad.. they use CRACK as the dressing.. or you will think so when you can't forget it and have to get back for another ASAP!!
