As someone who's been sober for 14 months, I can't express how meaningful it is to have a space like Good News, a dedicated non-alcoholic bar right in the heart of Hillcrest. It's not just a bar, it's a moment, and a beautifully thought-out one at that.

I stopped by during one of their soft opening nights, and one of the owners made the effort to personally introduce themselves to everyone in line. The love and intention behind this space was immediately clear.

The interior is comfortable, chic, and stylish, with a proper bar setup and cozy, lounge-style seating, perfect for catching up with friends or even meeting someone for a first date. The energy is welcoming, inclusive, and relaxed.

The menu includes NA cocktails, wines, and a few options with CBD or Kava, for folks who enjoy a little light, relaxed buzz. I personally avoid those, so I went with the Syrah Tempranillo blend, and it was so good, not syrupy or overly sweet like some other NA wines I've tried. It actually tasted closer to wine, which was a refreshing change.

Honestly, this venue fills a gap so many of us in the sober or sober-curious community have felt for a long time. Whether you're living alcohol-free, exploring mindful drinking, or just want a night out that doesn't revolve around booze, Good News is an absolute gift.
