Last night I went to Aztec Lanes, the bowling alley on the campus of San Diego State University - (See separate review for Aztec Lanes.) While I was waiting for my lane to become available, I decided to eat some dinner. Located in the same general area as Aztec Lanes - (Conrad Prebys Student Union), I discovered a gem!! "The Habit Burger Grill", a quaint, yet rustic burger joint. I got there around 7 pm, and it was fairly quiet, not to busy; although, I imagine that the Habit Burger Grill can be hopping. I ordered the double charburger, fries, and a drink ... all for under $14. The burger comes with two beef patties, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, and whatever sauces you get on it. It tasted awesome, like a real charbroiled burger! The French fries were thick cut, well salted, and super.
All in all, great food, inexpensive, and good customer service equals a "5" in my book. If you're ever in the San Diego State University area, and you're hungry, swing by The HabitBurger Grill. Guarantee you won't be disappointed. I recommend you park at Trader Joe's because SDSU can validate your parking...
Read moreGreat food for sure. Their burgers are delicious, they toast the bread on the grill, their bacon is crispy, and the fries are just crispy enough to have a nice crunchy exterior. The only downside is that they don't have any burgers for people who don't enjoy vegetables, so if they order any burger off the menu, they have to remove half the ingredients to end up with something they want (at that point you might as well go elsewhere for a burger, like Jack-in-the-Box). This could be alleviated by adding an additional menu option, such as a Bacon Double Char that doesn't come with any vegetables (like a Meat Lover's Pizza, or a Baconator; basically a menu option for people who don't want any veggies). If you're fine with their menu options, or if you're a picky eater but fine with not having the full experience, then I recommend Habit Burger over any other burger restaurant...
Read moreA go to for sdsu students. I always get my burger lettuce wrapped which has helped me keep off the freshman 15. The buzzer they had for me one time didn't work which was annoying having to wait another 10 minutes, but I still frequently go here for lunch. Keep in mind this is a busy place during the lunch hours, but if you avoid around 11-2 you will be in and out. They also have a breakfast menu here if you come before 10:30 which I have only tried their breakfast burger which was good. The seating area is shared with the other establishments, but there is still plenty of space. Lastly they have the usual spice bar and fountain drinks. A sure to visit if you want to try the habits...
