Second time I've tried to order something and receive a discount using the El Pollo Loco app. The first time the encompetent manager told me I needed to download the app to get a certain discount which I did. Then when I tried to get the discount, he said. Oh, it'll be on your second order. So I paid full price. Recently I tried to get one of their deals and I ordered it thru EPL app and when I got to the store and they charged full price. I complained to the manager who just said, "Do it on the app", he offered no explanation. I walked out and left my food and told the manager I wanted a credit on my credit card. I Followed up with a phone call as I was instructed through the app to cancel the order and spoke to the manager again who told me he would credit my acount. Just got a call today from the manager who said he wanted the order number so he could credit my account. I explained that I put all that information on my complaint to the Better Business Bureau as well as on my complaint to EPL corporate offices. I told the manager that I would dispute The charge on my credit card. As I said before, this manager is either incompetent or dishonest and just doesn't want to honor the discounts. Every business should follow the CARE acronym; Customers Are the Reason we Exist. Apparently, this El Pollo Loco does not care about...
Read moreFirst 'not so good' experience at El Pollo Loco on El Cajon Blvd. I've been here a few times where overall the experience was ok. Unfortunately this time the customer service, from the general manager was very unfriendly. The tostada salad I had was good with some pieces of very dry and overcooked chicken and the tostada was very cold. I understand that it's a salad and I'm aware that the tostada is supposed to be room temperature. But for it to be COLD and for the GM's demeanor to be 'welp, that's just how it is' - is rude. I had to go back and forth with her a few times to give me a fresh warm tostada. Which she just handed to me with the cold tostada and a get-out-of-my-face look. The overall experience wasn't that bad but in comparison to the one I usually go to in Mission Valley, it is. Still love El Pollo Loco just bad customer...
Read moreI always loved El Pollo Loco and still do. Is it me or the sides are much smaller? So I felt like I wanted a little more beans and tortillas. They only give you two small flower tortillas with the meals. So I decided to order a side of beans. "small". I have to to tell you that "small" was really "small" and it was 5 dollars plus tax. Almost six dollars for a tiny cup of beans. I thought it was ridiculous. The lady at the counter agreed that it was expensive. I think is a strategy to have people ask for an additional side and make money that way. Nothing against making money, but I absolutely felt I was being ripped off. I believe it is price gouging. No doubt about it. I only give it a two stars because I feel the size and price of the side orders...
