Heytea at Del Mar serves some of the best fruit tea I’ve had—super fresh.

That said, the pickup experience could really be improved. When ordering through the app, it doesn’t tell you the estimated wait time. By the time I’m notified that my order is ready, I still have to drive 15 minutes to the shop—and by then, the ice is mostly melted. They also don’t store the pickup drinks in a refrigerated area, so the drink ends up sitting out at room temperature.

This feels like an easy fix—the app could simply show a wait time estimate (like many other boba shops already do), or allow you to set a pickup time. Even just putting the drinks in a fridge would help preserve the quality. They do show the number of drinks in the queue AFTER you purchased it on the app.

Five-Star HeyTea Experience! I absolutely love this HeyTea branch in San Diego! Every visit is fantastic. The staff are incredibly friendly and efficient, and the management clearly does a great job because everything runs so smoothly. And of course, the drinks are consistently delicious—my go-to is always perfectly made. Big shout out to Mango Grapefruit. The amazing sourness from the grapefruit balances perfectly with the sweetness and creaminess from the coconut milk and mango. The sage is so delicious to chew on. Plus, the overall vibe of the place is just so welcoming and enjoyable....
