Located right on the corner of the Del Mar Highlands Town Center, next to the Ralph's grocery store, The Melt looks more like an upscale full-service restaurant from the outside rather than a fast-casual counter-service burger joint. In fact, the glass partitions on the patio were so clean I almost ran into them walking in!

Menu is huge but I settled on the Spicy Mission MeltBurger, the Garlic Chicken Bacon Mac and the Cheddar Bacon Ranch fries. Yes, a date with the gym was in my immediate future so I went hog wild.

The burger was great, not spicy at all. The jalapenos look scary but were pretty mild. The mac was a real star for me. I mean BACON on MAC N' CHEESE people. I should have went with the side portion, but the full version just meant I had yummy leftovers for the next day. Cheddar Bacon Ranch fries were great too and a steal at $5.

I skipped dessert but went for one of the craft sodas. They had seven different flavors but I'm always partial to an old fashioned Cola.

Service was great. I came in slightly before noon so there wasn't a line, but 10 min after noon and the lunch crowd started pouring in. There's plenty of parking outside, and since it's part of the mall, you can walk off your food with a nice stroll of the shops or even catch a movie at the Cinépolis. I love this area.

Came Saturday night late around 915pm not expecting them to be open. But to our surprise they were and was ready to go. We seen Michael the manager at the counter ready to take our order. He ask how can he help. We told him we never been there before so he immediately recommended some items. We ordered a crispy chicken sammich and the original cheese burger. Very good btw! shout out to the cooks! The Parm garlic fries were bomb too. We sit down around a lively crowd which was awesome to see. While sitting there Michael the manager came to check up on us making sure all was good. Said it was amazing then a few mins late he comes to bring us a cooker freshly baked saying you prolly werent expecting a chocolate chip cookie but here you go nice and fresh for you to enjoy. How amazing it was. Nice ending to the night. Michael has the best customer service which is so hard to find anymore. I manage 904 tenants and employees so I know all about customer service.
