Fun little Poke restaurant with cool modern vibe! This little poke restaurant is located in the Del Mar area. It's small and quaint. It has a nice little modern vibe to it and has some solid choices. Food: 4.5/5 I think the Poke here and the selections are excellent. Poke is all of the craze right now and these little shops are popping up everywhere. The steps are simple. You usually pick a base (rice or salad), then your mix-ins, then your protein, then your sauces, then your toppings, and then finally your crunch toppings. I got the brown rice Happy size (smaller with two scoops of protein), then I added pretty much all of the veggies that they allow, then I chose shrimp and spicy tuna, and finally my toppings. The fish had a very clean taste and had no odor whatsoever. The fish was also very fresh so it did not have any of the frozen like texture that fish will has sometimes. Overall the bowl was refreshing and filling. Service and Seating: 5/5 Excellent service with no frills. The workers prepared the bowl very quickly, they also gave me all of the toppings and items I wanted and moved me right along. The seating is nice as there are several tables inside with a few outdoors as well. I came at lunch on a Friday so there was a nice steady stream of customers which in my opinion is always a good sign. I really liked this poke restaurant. It had a fun little vibe with modern decor throughout. The food was fresh and I felt that they did a good job getting the food out to you quickly. My only area that I knocked it half of star is that it is a little bit pricey compared to other Poke places. There are only two sizes Happy (small) and Happier (large) and all other add-ons are extra charges. I know I'm being picky but that is just my opinion. But overall I think you will like this Poke restaurant so give it a try.

I ordered a happier bowl at 6:45pm for take out. Drove home 20 mins later and found that their scallops was bad. It smells really REALLY bad. I called Pokewan at 7:20pm to let them know that the food they served is bad and to throw it away before giving selling it to someone else. The response from Pokewan employee and assistant manager has been lackluster to say the least. The apology felt forced. They took down my name and number and was going to have the manager called me back. They only offered to a free bowl if I go to pick it up again tonight (another 40min round trip) or store credit, only after I mention if there was going to be some form of compensation or accountability. I decided gave them a call again and request for a refund for my purchase. Currently hoping that i won't developed a stomachache.

I love poke bowls and this place did not disappoint. The fish was fresh and tender, the rice was fluffy and well-cooked, and the toppings were generous and flavorful. The portion size was also satisfying and filling. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the service was fast and efficient. The restaurant was clean. I would definitely come back here again and recommend it to anyone who loves poke or wants to try something new and delicious.

I love to come to Pokewan. The food is always fresh and delicious. Although, I work 2 jobs and can rarely order inside and often have to order for pick up (this is because I have only a small window in between my two jobs to get food and get ready for my next job, I start one job before pokewan opens, and end the other job after it closes so on weekdays I have to order pick up if I want to have time to eat it). EVERY TIME I order pick up my order has something wrong on it and my order is not ready in time. I usually brush this aside because the lateness is only by about 5 minutes and it doesnt make me late, and when something is incorrect I will just ignore it because I do not have time to go reorder my food. But today my order was completely wrong! I was missing calamari salad, mesago, and sriracha. And I got several things I did not ask for like avocado and 2 other types of fish I do not know what they were, maybe scallops and tuna? I also got onions which I did not ask for. At this point I wonder why I am paying for this because it is not what...

Today was the WORST customer experience I have ever experienced in my life.

Came here to get a bowl (ordered online). After a few bites, I discovered a small fine black hair IN MY BOWL. I notified the employee (avg. height, strawberry blonde) and got a new bowl made.

Few minutes later, I FOUND ANOTHER BLACK HAIR (long & curly). See attached photo. My hair was tied back in a pony tail today & I am a light brunette/blonde as it is. When I notified the manager (named Suja or something similar/Asian ethnicity), she ACCUSED ME OF PULLING MY HAIR OUT and putting it in the bowl!! Are you kidding me?!!? Not only did she not offer a full refund or apologize, she continued to accuse me & would not share her name AND raised her voice at me. She stated she was the owner & was being disgraceful and rude. After working in service and food for years, I was appalled. I won't be returning & I hope all customers BEWARE of the hairy food you are likely to be getting if...
