During a long layover, we (2 of us) searched sandwich places nearby, and this one was six minutes away. It's not easily seen from the street. It is part of a yacht club and on the backside of the building. We couldn't park there as we were not members. So we parked on the street, and it lacked signage, so we kept walking around until we found it around the back. We went inside, and there was one individual making sandwiches, one individual in the back, and 1 individual talking on the phone at the register. Initially, we thought she was taking orders. So we waited. She didn't seem to be in a hurry... when she finally ended her call, the business phone rang, so she answered and put them on, hold to take our order. We both ordered the italian it was good but nothing spectacular. Once our orders were taken, however, the sandwiches were made quickly. We took them outside since it was a nice day and sat on the deck overlooking the boat slips. The ambiance was good, and if I happen to be at the yacht club, I...
Read moreI'm visiting from S.C. and staying at the Sheraton hotel at the bay...saw people walking out side door of lobby to a walkway connecting the other Sheraton hotels...I decided to take a peek and came across Papanani deli. Checked out the menu and prices...not bad. Most definitely better than the overpriced hotel food. I ordered an all meat omelette and OMG! 3 eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, cheese regular coffee (small coffee bar with variety self serve)!! Soooo goood!! I ate here 2 morning in a row! This place has a very friendly atmosphere, small, cozy, has seating inside and outside overlooking a marina, very clean, has a tv to watch, food and coffee served fresh and hot $11 and some change with coffee today. Yesterday, $ 10 and some change with a Coke zero. Portion size has me full until lunch. The guy clerk said that he don't do small portions as he pats his tummy saying he tastes all the food. For my experience, Good food I ate, atmosphere 5...
Read moreI was staying at a nearby hotel and couldn't believe the outrageous prices at the in house restaurants. So I was pleasantly surprised to discover this awesome little deli!
I had the french dip sandwhich which was reasonably priced especially with how big and loaded with meat it was. The only negative thing I could say about it is that it had mayonnaise on it which isn't usual. Not a game changer, I'll just order it without next time.
They also had a good selection of other items you'd find in most convenient stores wich was also great as I needed some supplies for my stay nearby.
I'm actually going back for lunch today to try some other food. Would definitely recommend this place to anybody staying nearby or just...
