Read moreI’ve loved Parakeet Del Mar and been a customer for nearly a year, multiple times a week. Unfortunately there are a couple gripes I have. Firstly, you guys really have to get wifi. It is ridiculous that we can’t have a business meeting or get work done at a coffee shop we are spending nearly $70 at each visit. This is a simple and easy fix. Secondly, your Acai bowls are the best in town. However, in the past few months you have decreased the portion of the acai and fruit included, but the price hasn’t changed…this is a bummer. Third, the music you guys blast in the courtyard is always just a bit too loud. It’s hard to have a conversation. We don’t come here to listen to pop music, we come here to congregate with other people. Light background music is awesome. Loud music that makes it hard to hear each other is distracting and uncomfortable. Lastly, and this is something that has been consistent since I started coming here: whatever you guys use to clean your bathroom smells like literal human sweat…I used to think it was probably just the person that used the restroom before me. But I’ve smelled this literally 20 times here and it has to be what you guys are moping the floors or cleaning the restroom with. Fix the above issues and you’re a 5-star establishment every single day. You have great food, great people, and a great atmosphere. The above are...
Read moreI was surprised at how good this place was. It's informal but they have genuinely good food. I can't wait to go back and try something different. Maybe because I was not involved in the choice and at how low key it seemed but I ordered the beet cured salmon with eggs plate for breakfast and I was surprised. The salmon was better than I've had elsewhere, the scrambked eggs were cooked perfectly, still moist. And the piece of bread with Labneh spread was super. The labneh had some light herb addition that gave it an additional flavor that was perfect for me. The bread, the labneh and the herbs - Wow like heaven. My partner got a black sesame carrot muffin which we shared. Good, a bit dense, and I did not notice the flavor of sesame. She also got the green eggs.they are very green looking. The flavor here seemed missing. No real zing without adding some.green salsa. Again the thick slice of rustic style bread with labneh was just delicious.
We went with a dog and a baby so the informal setting worked well for us. They have a good sized patio area with a fair amount of seating in the shade. They are near to Soul Cycle so there were a fairly large number of clientele there after their workouts. The rest of the clientele were a great mix of family...
