The worst pizza establishment I've dealt with in my entire life. All started when I ordered 4 large pies(2 margherita and 2 large peppered salami) for my family. I drove 30 minutes from El Cajon to pick up pizza however the person who handled my order told me that my order was ready and handed me 2 large rectangular boxes. As this was my first time ordering here, I had assumed that there was 2 large pizzas in each rectangular box as pizza typically comes in a square box. So about 30 minutes after as I am now eating with my family, I received a call from them informing me that they had forgot to hand me 2 additional boxes. Since the restaurant had closed, I had returned the call the next day asking for a refund. However the manager(Veronica) at that time informed me that since they had closed out the system last night I couldn't get a refund, instead I can get store credit or have them make the two pies that they had missed. After explaining a few times that I don't want pizza anymore or to dine in the near future, she finally agreed to issue my refund. Here is icing on the cake, 72 hrs following my call I got a notification from my bank that they had charged me again instead of issuing a refund therefore I called and spoke to a different manager this time(Savannah). She said she will look into it and call me back which she had forgotten therefore I had followed up the next day. Following up on the next day she had told me that she was busy and didn't have time and that I should figure it out by calling my bank. At this time, I had given up..... Frustrated that I had to follow up for 2 weeks for a refund because their restaurant messed up on my order and did not give me what I had ordered. Instead they charged me twice and told me to go figure it out. I've attached...
Read moreHas anyone stopped to ask why we're allowing a coal burning pizza place to operate in the middle of a climate crisis in an environmentally conscious city in Southern California? Why in the world would we be supporting a business that makes pizzas in coal burning ovens in this day and age when we are all clearly aware of the environmental impacts of coal? When I spoke to the manager today (10/4/21) about this she said she has every right to be there and is taking the necessary precautions, and that the foul smelling smoke you see pouring out from the restaurant is wood only and that there are no coal smoke particles in there, yet these are coal burning ovens in an area mere feet away from and surrounded by housing and residences with a truly HORRIFIC smell emanating from it. Has anyone also stopped to think about the health ramifications of giving your kids pizzas that have been marinating and cooking in a coal burning oven? I would suggest doing your further research online before continuing to support this company. I have alerted the Environmental Health Department of San Diego on this matter, as it is something that at the very least warrants further discussion. I would invite the owners to shift from coal + wood to 100% wood burning (yes it is also urban and 'cool'), and help protect the local air pollution and our health. Thank you...
Read moreI placed an order through doordash for their food and was having some issues with notifications on the app. I had to call the restaurant a couple of times and they were nice and reassured me that the food would be ready when I got there at the time I ordered for. The second time I called, I asked if they could change the time of pick up since they had a much earlier time than I would be able to get there. The lady on the phone was not very helpful and said she couldn’t change the time and would do her best to communicate to the cooks. I was pretty disappointed by this as I didn’t want to be going to get lukewarm/cold pizza. When I did arrive, it appeared they had just made the pizza but then they gave me the wrong pizza! I did open it and was nearby so I could walk back to get the right one thankfully. They did have it ready to go but wasn’t quite as warm unfortunately. We got th eggplant Parmesan pizza which was quite good. The crust is super thin and the pizza was hard to pick up as one full piece, but the taste was good. It was quite greasy but I think that’s somewhat to be expected with pizza! The prices are a little high in my opinion. Ultimately it was decent pizza but I wasn’t thrilled with my experience (partially due to doordash as well but then their response to my calling about it). Perhaps in the future things...
