Pho Today — Restaurant in San Diego

I stopped in Pho Today for an early dinner. I ordered Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio or Grilled Pork and Spring Rolls with vermicelli Noodles for $13.95 plus tax.

The bùn was good and they offered a lot of noodles and a decent amount of pork. The pork was tender but is was missing that smokiness from the grill. The vermicelli came hot, which was odd because it's normally served cold or at room temp. I think they forgot to run it under cold water after they boiled it.

The spring rolls ground pork and veggies were very good, but the spring rolls themselves needed a more brown golden color. They looked under fried, but the filling inside was cooked properly.

The veggies that came with the meal were fresh and crisp but the meal was missing those traditional crushed peanuts.

The table chile paste and the fish sauce were both very good. I was a huge fan of the chili paste.

They are relatively new so I wanted to give them a try and support a new business and I'm always driving to city heights for pho so I was glad to see one open up here in the College Area, as it definitely needed a good pho place! Ive been here more times than I'd like to admit, and I've found the pho broth is phenomenal in flavor, very rich, complex, deep and not oily/fatty like other places!! I also tried their beef spring roll and their fried tofu, and both are also delicious. The beef in the roll was delightfully tender. There will definitely be a next time as so far what I've tried has impressed me enough to keep me from driving 5 min down the street to city heights. I'm so glad to have a delicious Pho place just a few blocks away. The broth is so tasty and perfectly seasoned, they give a good amount of protein, noodles, and toppings. The crispy egg rolls are yuuuummmmy! They serve the pho in what appears to be a metal type bowl. They're huge and stylish.

Service is always good here. I'm assuming the lady here is one of the owners because she's always here and always takes care of the customers.

This is located in the college area shopping center where the vons is. Parking up close can be steep during lunch or dinner but yiu can still find parking further into the vons parking lot.
