I believe this is a new place, that took over the long-closed and low-rated "Mirch Masala".
I stopped in one evening (around dinner time) with my daughter, it was empty, except for one person picking up food. There were Indian people behind the counter and in the kitchen, which seemed promising - authentic and genuine - people who truly care about serving quality Indian food. The lady behind the counter was very polite, helpful, and attentive.
I ordered an order of Vegetable Samosa and an order of Garlic Naan and Hummus. Both appetizers were absolutely delicious. The Veggie Samosas were hot, fresh, and crunchy, even after a 10-15 minute walk homem the Garlic Naan was uniquely flavorful with seasonings rare to my palate. The hummus was delightful. My husband found it to be slightly sweet.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very much a "vibe"!!! There were incredibly hip Indian music videos playing on the TV from YouTube, which was very fun. A very welcoming and "party-like" atmosphere. An Indian family walked into the restaurant after I did so it was nice to see that.
I immediately cannot wait to go back for the $10.99 lunch special. I hope they offer that forever.
Definitely definitely definitely try...
Read moreI came to Tandoori Vibes with my friends for the first time today. We arrived around 4pm and there were only about 4 other patrons there. The restaurant is somewhat small, seating probably about ~14-15 people max, and isn’t particularly decorated or anything, but it’s clean and simple.
We ordered mango pineapple chicken, goat curry, tikka masala, cheese naan, roti, and mango lassis. My mango pineapple chicken was awesome! It was super flavorful, and since I got it really spicy, the interplay of the fruit and spice worked wonders. The chicken was very juicy, and the curry was complex, rich, and hitting on all cylinders.
The goat curry was really good, too. The goat itself had a good char on it and the curry was earthy and a little smoky. The roti was nicely cooked and worked well as a wrap for the curries. The rice comes free with your order, which is a really nice touch since many Indian restaurants often charge $2-3 per rice serving.
Overall it was a really nice meal and the restaurant displayed a thoughtful presentation of Indian food that was...
Read moreFrom the reviews I was expecting some amazing food but unfortunately it didn't go that way. I got the Butter Chicken(2/5 stars) and Tikka Masala (4/5 stars). The Butter Chicken had no flavor at all and it was watery to the point that it looked like they ran out of sauce and added water to make the plate look full. It tasted like water and there was barely any flavor. The chicken as well was very bland and I was caught off guard as to why it tasted like this. Fortunately, the Tikka Masala saved my meal and it actually had a nice flavor. The cubes of chicken were nice and tender and the flavor was very nice. The rice they used was average and there was nothing to write home about. Overall I'd have to give this place 3 stars out of 5 due to how lacking the Butter Chicken was in flavor. I hope they stop taking shortcuts by adding water to these dishes, I'd rather wait for a fresh pot of Butter Chicken than some watered down leftovers. Other than that everything...
