I want to preface this review by saying that I'm a super patient person, if a place gets my order wrong, I'm not super picky and will usually eat whatever it is anyway unless it's missing items. This review is based on my very first time going here, I just wanted to try it out by getting some quick food on the way home.
I went through the drive thru and the items seemed fairly priced. The worker on the other end didn't speak fluent English, but no worries! She seemed to take down my order no problem (#2, I asked for the enchiladas, one carne and one pollo and Buffalo Fries). When I pull up to the drive thru window, everything goes downhill.
She repeats my order "Pollo Asado fries and 2 number 2's?" I'm like uhh, no, I wanted the buffalo fries. She said something to another worker in the back and again, repeats pollo asado fries. Ok, sure, those sound fine anyway. And I corrected that I wanted ONE number 2 PLATE with "2 Enchiladas." My girlfriend who speaks Spanish chimes in and clarifies everything. She once again says something to the guy in the back in Spanish... and goes to get the food. I've worked in service and understand what customer service is like, but she had one nasty attitude. She brings takes my card, says nothing, brings the food to us, I say "Thank you," says nothing and walks away... like... did I genuinely do something wrong???
I drive away and my partner checks her food, pollo asado fries and... a Carne asada burrito. We turn around immediately to clarify with them at the store. Once there, my girlfriend tells them that the order was wrong. The lady worker rolled her eyes. And, instead of correcting the order, the other worker in the back demanded us to pay for the wrong item. What? Like I get it, there might have been a translation issue, but we're willing to exchange for the correct food. Obviously annoyed, my girlfriend waited for them to say something before they settled on us returning the food for a refund. After receiving the refund, my girlfriend said "Thanks" and the door was slammed in her face.
It's really, really hard for me to write a negative review, but this experience was disappointing at the least and offensive at the most. Not at any single point was I rude, impatient, or condescending with the workers here, because I understand what that work is like, and yet I was treated like garbage, not a paying customer. We will personally not be coming back here ever again, there are way too many great Mexican food places around the SDSU area within 5 minutes that treat their customers better and deserve your attention more than Senor...
Read moreThe food is good. I of course ordered my bean and cheese. The location is convenient, but the parking lot, drive through, and ease of access by car is not very convenient in my opinion. The pricing is a bit high for me, so I've taken stars down. A bean and cheese is $4.25, I believe, which isn't the worst, but I do keep that in mind. My food wasn't greasy. The people working here are kind of weird though, and don't really communicate very well, and seem a little aloof. You're definitely paying for the location, not the quality or taste of the food. Speaking of location, there is outdoor seating, so you can relax if you want (my boyfriend and I left immediately after receiving our food though). Very hole-in-the-wall type aesthetic. The food was nothing to write home about, and good in a hurry (fast service), but the location is kind of dangerous with a car, and the personable element I associate with a restaurant was missing. I would say I reccomend this place if you're in a pinch for time, but for the price and service, better can...
Read moreWent here the other night on a Wednesday with my friend and family ! Sad cus the food was bomb! But the whole experience was HORRIBLE! The drive in was confusing which I could live with ! But we ordered( everyone was going to separate locations )when we approached the window we paid and the older gentleman with glasses asked what kinda salsa we wanted we said both and asked for extra ! You would have thought we called his momma out of his name ! He went off and said “we don’t even know how many I gave you & your asking for more “ my friend even told him we’ll pay for it because we all are going to separate houses & he said “that’s not the point “ and demanded for us to tell him how many we wanted in total ! It was just weird and I live right down the street and I most likely would never go there or recommend it! Food is expensive and to be yelled at even offering to pay was wild to me ! It made me so uncomfortable & almost didn’t want the food anymore . Bad...
