Please read entirely. This is a good place to go if you want to take a client to lunch and your company reimburses your expenses, or you want a treat and have money to burn but are not very hungry.
The restaurant from the outside is centrally located, well marked and easy to find.
Once Inside, the restaurant appears to be perfectly clean. The furnishings and decor are simple, but tasteful and elegant. and the atmosphere is peaceful and quiet.
Let me start with the positive. The staff are lovely. They are clean, well groomed, fast and efficient, and most of all very helpful, professional and friendly. Last but certainly not least, they understood and spoke clear and fluent English.
I placed my order in the restaurant and had it packed "to go".
Dinner for 2.
I originally ordered:
Yellow Curry Chicken $ 9.99 Mock Duck Pad Khing. $9.99
Copied from the menu from this site--------------------------------------------
Yellow Curry Yellow chili paste curry in coconut milk with potatoes, and onions. Vegetables or Tofu $8.99 Chicken, Pork, Beef or Mock Duck $9.99 Shrimp or Squid $12.99 Scallops or Seafood $14.99
Pad Khing Sautéed vegetables, and mushrooms in a delicate ginger sauce. Vegetables or Tofu $8.99 Chicken, Pork, Beef or Mock Duck $9.99 Shrimp or Squid $12.99 Scallops or Seafood $14.99 At that time, I was informed that they no longer serve Mock Duck, and that when they did, the price was higher than what is listed on this website. And, in fact, it had been replaced by a new 50% duck by-product, and that the dish would be a whopping $26.99.
At that time I changed my order to:
Yellow Curry Chicken $9.99 Chicken Pad Khing $9.99
Wrong again. It was:
Yellow Curry Chicken $10.99 Chicken Pad Khing $10.99 Tax $ 1.70 Total $26.32
OK, fine. I paid for the meals and I was informed that the food would be ready in approximately 10 minutes, and I replied that I needed to go to the store next door and wouldn't be back for at least 15 minutes, so please have them take their time. She answered "OK".
When I returned, I found that the food was ready as promised and packed for the travel home.
When I arrived at home, I opened the bag and began "unpacking" and was elated that the meal apparently came with rice and some type of soup! Unfortunately, it turned out that the soup was my Yellow Curry Chicken. And I use the term "Chicken" loosely, as the entire entree had exactly 10 slivers of chicken, about the size of a quarter in it, about half a cup of onions and carrot, and no potato that I noticed.
The Chicken Pad Khing had approximately the same amount of Chicken, and though there was more variety of vegetables, the portion was even smaller.
HOWEVER, the flavors were REMARKABLE. Very tasty. My husband ate his, and I could tell he was still hungry. Since he has to work tonight, I offered the rest of mine to him, to get him through the night.
Like I said, the flavors were wonderful, but, the portions were ridiculously small, (especially for the money) and though I wouldn't consider either of us "big eaters", I need to go find something to eat right now, and I suspect my husband is still...
Read moreThe visit on 11/27/2024 night was my third visit in this restaurant.
I started to write reviews on Google since the COVID. It is because somehow I hope a good review can help the restaurant business.
Everyone has different taste buds. Some people like spicy food, others like sweet and sour. And everyone has different perspectives of good and bad service.
Now, the review I would like to share is because there was a special incident happened on Wednesday night.
It was more crowded than we expected. There were only two servers, one old woman and one old man. Both of them are restaurant owners.
By the time around 9 pm, we were about to leave. All of a sudden, a couple of customers were complaining about the slow service and bad attitude, something like the server slamming the dish on the table.
These couple are absolutely right about the slow service.
However, they could have a little more empathy towards these two old people. At least, not yelling. We heard the yelling all the way from the end of the restaurant and they were in the front.
Imagine the owner didn't mean to slam the dish on the table. It could be because he was not able to hold the heavy plates steadily after long hour of working.
Anyway, the food was great. It's definitely worth a shot.👍👍👍👍
The service will be slower than you expect.
Prices have gone up compared to my first visit.
Advice: call before you go. If there are only two old servers, maybe you can choose not to go.
Happy Thanksgiving...
Read moreWe dined this restaurant with my family of three 04/1/23 evening between 6-7 PM ,ordered following menu
1)Drunken noodles
2)Spicy fried rice
3)Basil Eggplant
During order we told them specifically to keep less vegetables on Drunken noodles.
What’s got delivered was ridiculous.
Drunken noodle plate was full of vegetables and I have to plough through entire plate to take out the noodles. Noodles was very less with veggies filling entire plate.
We have tasted drunken noodles in multiple thai restaurants for last 10 years it’s the first time we see it’s delivered with full of vegetables.
Basil eggplant was so dry that we couldn’t eat with jasmine rice.
We told owner if they can fix it and she argued with us for 10 mins instead of helping us.
It’s first time we see owner being very rude and not listening to customers genuine request.
She was so rude that she charged us for hot water, see attached receipt.
Finally we had to leave the restaurant in the middle of dinner and go to another restaurant to finish our dinner.
Very very poor customer service and particularly owner is very rude.
If you are seasoned thai food junky like us,I wouldn’t recommend this...
