Banh Mi Blvd — Restaurant in San Diego

I love this place. Best banh mi sandwiches I've ever had, with the tastiest baguette bread, start at only $4 compared to as $5.79 nearby (base price). Their baguettes -- which they also sell solo at about $1.35 -- are simultaneously chewy and slightly crunchy -- a perfect contrast to its ingredients. Their "spring rolls (the rice paper kind, unfried) are great, too.

The atmosphere of the cafe is upbeat instead of sterile, like some other Vietnamese cafes I've been to around here recently. Did I mention that I used to cook in a Vietnamese restaurant years ago? It's not a full restaurant, but they have a fairly large menu that I plan to make my way through -- especially their banh mi add-ons, the beef and the chicken curries, the Banh Mi Blvd loaded fries, and a bunch of others.

Their boba tea drinks are incredibly cheap -- starting at only $3 , with boba starting at $0.50. I grabbed two today, mistakenly left $6 in bills on the counter when I had decided to pay by card. The young man working there came out after me just before I drove away and handed me my money....

I'm trying hard not to be a hater, but starting your price off at 9 bucks a Banh mi better mean you're serving up some premium stuff.

But when your bread breaks apart and your taste is actually slightly worse than the place down the street that bakes their bread fresh and starts off their prices at $6.50, it makes me not want to come back.

I got the #1 for $10 and it's the same style as every other place that charges less than $7 for, and with an inferior taste. Wife got a BBQ pork and when I took a bite it tasted like grease fire, and she said the last bite of it...

Very catchy store name if you ask me. Hey! Where you at? You can catch me ordering at Banh Mi Blvd! Lol. I always order their grilled beef.
