I used to be a regular to this restaurant for quite some time. But things have taken a sharp turn for the worse recently. The staff there is not only slow and unorganized, but most of them are actually hostile. We ordered for our food and they took almost 45 min (with very few customers in the restaurant). They brought in the food in a piecemeal option - bread first - thn the entree 20 min later ,by this time the bread was hard and cold... Anyways, when we told the waitress (Kalpana?) that we were not happy - she told us - not to show my face to her and she dumped the food and stormed away. Our food finally arrived after a while and by that time most of it was cold - hence we wanted to get it packed. I went to the counter and asked for some boxes. The person there asked me - what did I want the boxes for ? Interesting question... I responded - Obviously for food. One of the guy literally shouted at the top of his voice , threatening me. Me and other customers there, thought he was going to hit me... Anyways, I kept my cool - got the boxes and left. I hear the guy apologize for his behavior to the other custimers - but he never apologized to me.. Not that I cared anymore. I am never going back to this restaurant. The folks in the corporate office need to be cognizant that the current management in San Diego is simply pulverizing the good name of this franchise. I have seen some horrible services in other restaurants before - but nothing beats this!! Most of the staff needs to be fired and admitted in anger...
Read moreWe moved from India recently and was craving for Hakka noodles and biriyani. We came here all the way from Carlsbad, yes, we reached a bit late, at 2:15 pm and 3 pm was their closing time. Without taking much time, we ordered Street style noodles, veg biriyani and goat sukka.
There was another option of Spicy Garlic noodles and we specifically ordered Street style noodles, as such Hakka noodles will not have any RED CHILLI as far as we know, and we haven't found it spicy at any place till now. My 5 year old was not able to eat his lunch. And the oil used for noodles, tasted really bad as well.
Biriyani, we mentioned to be MEDIUM spice but I dont think they listen to what you say. Biriyani is prepared in advance and they have no control of the spice level. And it was too spicy as well.
My husband was saying that the goat sukka did not taste good as well.
By now, it was 2:50 pm, and my kid was super hungry. We thought of ordering fried rice with NO spice, but then they informed that the chefs leave at 2:45 pm sharp and they cannot do anything about it. We just had to fill up with dessert and search for another place to eat.
Isn't it a courtesy just to ask/tell the customers if they would need anything else before the chef takes leave? It was all in all a bad experience!
Kindly use good quality ingredients even if you have to increase the price of the dishes. If the oil/masalas are not of good quality, it shows me up at the end of day, and I had a burning sensation in my throat after having...
Read moreUpdate May 2022! The place is under new management and new chefs, and the taste is not the same. Quality has gone down, taste=0, Quantity- 1/ 4 of what is was under previous ownership. New chefs and this is in no way Indian food. My order and rating: Beer- Indian beer- no issues Appetizer 1- Gobi 65- 2/10 rating - no taste- no salt- no flavor- quantity almost like a taster for the price- even Costco samples provide more quantity than this place. Appetizer 2- Cut Mirch- 1/10- Bland, zero flavor-very bad Appetizer 3- Chicken 65- 1/10- All batter, very small quantity, zero taste, no salt, no flavor Veggie Noodles- 0/10- No flavor, no condiments, bad This is not Indian food, this is god knows what food, never had such bad food. New ownership/management- please make corrections to taste, quantity and flavor, get a real Indian chef- or you will shut down in an year. This is my honest opinion. Thanks
