I like the family owned atmosphere. I think Kim is expensive, a bit overpriced. We paid approximately $2,500 more for a small diamond (we didn't know what we didn't know at the time). It is frustrating waiting for her assistance. Almost rude when you go to spend money. BUT in some ways you get what you pay for...a few years ago I accidently yanked a prong completely off on a 4 prong mount. My stone did not budge! Not even a little. I gently touched it to see if it would wiggle or fall out. Zero wiggle! Still solid, with only 3 prongs intact. That craftsmanship saved me some would have been tears. She did not offer full trade in value when we upgraded. She offered several thousands less. It's a shame. I would have preferred to stay with Kim. But my husband refused as we overpaid initially and then she offered less for trade in. I ended up with a platinum set 2.53ct vvs upgrade. It takes my breath away. I would have loved to stay with Kim. She does offer quick jewelry maintenance and repairs. She will try to source you a stone if you are looking for...
Read moreI recently visited this jeweler to sell a gold bracelet. I have done business with this establishment before and have always felt I was treated fairly. However, this time was not the same. The woman running the shop told me she needed to test the bracelet. So she took some drops and rubbed the bracelet in the drops. Then she told me it was 10k gold. Then I explained to her that the bracelet was stamped 585 which is 14k gold. She became defensive and said âwell you just saw me do the test with the drops, you saw for yourself it is 10k goldâ. Of course I myself am not a jeweler, so the results of the test of rubbing the bracelet in some drops on a plate have no meaning to me. I took the bracelet to a refinery in San Diego, where they tested it. They showed me it was 14k gold, just as the bracelet is stamped. Very disappointing to have a business lie straight to my face, and in turn try to pay me less money than what my item was actually worth. I will not be going back, and strongly advise anyone who chooses to do business here to use...
Read moreI brought in a 1923 pocket watch that wasn't working with a cracked crystal. Kim was able to source the crystal and have the watch repaired in her shop. The price was reasonable. She told me the cost up front which is the exact price I paid when I picked it up. Her service was outstanding and she called me regularly to update me on the progress. She and her staff are very friendly and I had a very...
