I almost never leave reviews, but want to share my recent experience because I think this spot has so much potential and think it could do great with some small improvements.
I went on a sunny Thursday mid-morning in August around 11 a.m. There was a line, but it moved quickly, which was nice.
My biggest critique is the quality of the food. I ordered three items -- one was good, two were very much not. The good: scrambled egg toast! I'd return just for that item, it was delicious. The bread was hearty and not mushy, the scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection, the cream cheese was tasty, and the greens on top added a lovely freshness.
However, I was disappointed in the coffee and pastry. As primarily a coffee and tea stand, you'd assume coffee would be the thing they do best. I ordered a Vanilla Biscuit Latte (even from their specialty drink menu!) and for a drink modeled after a sugar cookie topped with whipped cream and sprinkles, it lacked so much flavor. Not just sweetness, but even coffee flavor. Even the whipped cream was bland. Not worth the calories or sugar at all - just sooo lackluster. I also ordered an almond croissant that looked incredibly appetizing in the display case. However, the croissant itself was dry and a bit hard, and the almonds and sugar topping were also completely flavorless! I'm usually a sucker for an almond croissant, but ended up giving my boyfriend the second half because it was just not good. I was shocked for two items that should be so sweet packed with flavor, it was like eating and drinking empty calories.
That said, the area is adorable and so well designed. Could use a few more outdoor umbrellas, but overall a great place to sit, relax, or work. I really think this could be a five-star place if/once they're able to improve the food and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn Sunday June 29th at about 3:00pm I had the worst customer experience from the long haired guy who took my order and two blonde girls making the drinks. I ordered a cold brew coffee which I order quite often and know and love the bitter taste of. The coffee I received from this place was actually sour and looked like maybe couldāve been a bad batch. I tried to suck it up and drink this $8.00 coffee but honestly couldnāt. My 6 months pregnant wife tried to go back and maybe get it swapped out for something else, and was first met by these two girls making drinks loudly complaining about how rude people for simply asking the water station to be refilled. She decided to just wait in line again instead to avoid the two girls. She finally got to the front and asked the gentleman at the front to replace or remake the drink to which he replied āAll we can do is add more milk or sweetener.ā He then asked the two girls making the drinks if they could do anything and all they said was āyeah cold brew coffee is bitter, thereās nothing we can do other than add more milk or sweetener.ā Itās customer service 101. I mean Iāve had cold brew coffee before in my 30 years of life I know what it tastes like. Secondly I just spent $20 with tip on two drinksā¦. Just make me a new drink or replace the one I had. Terrible customer service from these three...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow, so many thoughts on this place. Iāve been here for coffee before but last night I went for dinner with a friend and was not impressed. Hereās a list of everything that went wrong:
There is a sneaky 4% surcharge that you donāt notice until you get your bill (or if you squint at the bottom portion of the menu). This surcharge was previously 3.5% but is now 4%.
I got the Birria tacos and my friend got the burger. The tacos were okay but my friend was not a fan of her burger.
Their menu lists a warm cookie and a āwarm carrot cakeā as dessert options. We initially asked for the warm cookie and the cashier said they were out. We then asked for the warm carrot cake. We then paid and he handed us a COLD carrot cake. When we asked if he was going to warm it up he said they could not do that at this locationā¦WHAT?!?! When I asked why they would list WARM carrot cake on the menu if it was not warm, he said they had a different location where they actually do warm up the cake. Mind you, I had already paid, so I walked away with cold cake.
They list alcohol on their menu but when we went up and tried to order a glass of wine with dinner, we were told we had to go to a different line for alcohol. We then headed over to the airstream they have, which serves as their bar area, and there was no one there!
Do not recommend...
