Offshore Tavern & Grill — Restaurant in San Diego

Offshore has really gone downhill in the past year, I used to frequent this place all the time, I even bought their merchandise, three different t-shirts plus t-shirts for my friends and wife.

The food is decent but the service staff and the atmosphere is what has made it a stale experience. I wouldn't be surprised if offshore goes out of business in the next year. It used to be a busy and buzzing place, but now every time I drive by there (3 times a week, I live about a mile away and do business in the area) it's always empty so I wouldn't be surprised that people agree with me regarding their personal experience.

It is evident that working there is not a pleasant experience for the wait staff because of poor employee retention and lack of hospitality and smiles. There's new faces there and they don't care to ask you for your name and seems like they lack proper training. My friends and I agree that we are no longer fans of offshore even though we used to spend hundreds of dollars per visit, we are currently looking for the next best hangout spot. Been there twice because friends like the place. Nice location but the food is just average and the staff is usually terrible! The bartenders and wait staff spend their entire shifts taking shots with the customers so they are not very attentive to your needs, unless you are buying them shots. The manager, Kevin, and the owner are in there every night drinking like fish, getting drunk and saying inappropriate things to the customers, especially the women. The owner is a troll that talks bad about customers behind their back and makes up lies about them just for her own personal enjoyment.(the owner told us that a friend of ours was being mean to their dog in the restaurant when our friend wasn't even there when the owner claimed and we have obviously never witnessed them do anything like that!) I would not go back now that I know what goes on behind the scenes there. They also add a 4% "wage fee" to the bill without telling you about it before hand! Total scam for the troll to...

UPDATED: The Johnson has returned to full size! Also, the roll is so soft and has a rich flavor, almost like a brioche. Try the spicy garlic salad dressing! My son, who has an intellectual disability, pointed out that The Johnson is now made with a smaller wiener now. It seems that the portion of fries has increased to compensate for the smaller wiener. It's a real shame; The Johnson was touted as being (and always was) a large wiener. Not anymore. Oh! The price of the smaller Johnson has increased, too.

By the way, it's very possible that you could be eating with animals next to you -- pet owners weren't turned away.

Last thing: they've got all their extra junk just attacked out in the patio dining area, i.e. televisions on the floor leaning against a wall, etc. Messy, tacky, unsafe.
