I read the reviews for this place and I was curious to try it, being Mexican, I’ve never been too impressed by tacos in San Diego, there are good tacos but there’s always something better down south. I am not someone that picks a place for the atmosphere, I go places for their food, if the atmosphere is good I might stay longer but if the food’s good I’ll come back. Which is the case with this place, the food is so good that I would travel back from mexico just to eat their ribeye tacos. I’ve read about people complaining about the atmosphere here, there are too used to fast food joints, this is how a real taqueria feels like, it’s rustic, not sterile, there’s ash from the charcoal flying and landing in the furniture out back, loud music, informal service. If you can’t deal with that, go get yourself some fast food instead, this might not be for everyone. But the food… The food is worth it, not sterile uberclean plastic setting we tend to find this side of the wall, this feels authentic, and tastes like the best in Mexico. The quality of the raw materials ids the best I have seen, even in México. Could the setting be better? Who cares, the tacos are fantastic that’s all that counts. Bravo to the owners, we wish you great success, and many years in business so that we may comeback many times.

Tried the Ribeye fries for the first time here. Perfectly cooked and seasoned with high quality meat! The fries are thick and crispy, steak was seasoned perfectly and the chimichuri sauce really added amazing flavor to the plate. Now to the salsa bar - everything is organized and clean. Loved all 3 types of salsa. The pickled onions are crunchy and a bit sour (for my personal taste but overall very good) They also give you a side thing of grilled jalapeno (spicy) and onions - they're so addicting. The horachata is another plus for the place - made very fresh and soo flavorful. On top of all, the customer service is amazing - very friendly and welcoming. Will return for sure with other family members!

If you’re a taco lover, do yourself a favor and check this place out—it’s next-level! They offer rib eye and arrachera (skirt steak) on their tacos, burritos, and quesadillas, and let me tell you, the flavor is unreal. The meat is tender, juicy, and full of that rich, smoky grilled taste you hope for when ordering good steak. Whether you’re craving tacos or a loaded quesadilla, everything is packed with quality and flavor. You can taste the difference. This spot is a hidden gem, and now officially one of my go-to places. Highly recommend.

The taste is good, I ordered 3 tacos and waited 35 minutes, music inside the bar, (understandable) but next to the cash register a speaker with corridos tumbados that can be heard since you are a block before arriving at the place, I have no problem with the prices, but in the 2 occasions that I have been I feel that in relation to price-quality, they are not in accordance with each other, in short, there are better options in the area, IMPORTANT DETAIL, THE TAQUEROS ARE CONSUMING THEIR INDIO BEERS WHILE THEY WORK AND PREPARE YOUR ORDER, in addition to the vocabulary full of rudeness between them, without caring about the presence of girls or women waiting for their food orders.

Review Improvement

I enjoyed the taste of the tacos I ordered, but my experience was somewhat marred by a few factors. I ordered three tacos and had to wait 35 minutes for them. While I understand that music is part of the bar atmosphere, there was a speaker near the cash register blasting corridos tumbados, which could be heard from a block away.

I don't have any issues with the pricing, but I feel that the quality does not match the cost based on my two visits. There are certainly better options in the area.

An important detail to note is that the taqueros were consuming their Indio beers while preparing orders. Additionally, their use of inappropriate language among themselves was concerning, especially given the presence of women and girls waiting for their food. Overall, I believe there is room for improvement in both service...
