Well, this is my very last time coming here unfortunately. I was so happy to find vegan tacos cause there’s not many places that sell it that’s why I kept coming here they are very good that’s why I kept coming back! but this is like the fifth time they got my order wrong and it’s not just small things like they keep forgetting to put certain toppings I ask for or they forget the hot sauce, before I kept letting it go but they literally forgot the combo of the rice and beans before that I paid for a combo plate and only got the tacos. They never offered to replace it next time I come I had told them over the phone just be aware. I live all the way downtown so I’m not gonna turn back around for that. So I don’t check my food till I get home but now I start checking my food everywhere I go but why this is the very last time because today didn’t get her name the blonde Hispanic ( I assume she’s Hispanic). She doesn’t look Caucasian and it looks like a blonde hair dye but anyway she is working on May 20, 2025 Tuesday at 5 PM had a very bad attitude from jump and I don’t know why I gave them so much money in business but that’s why I don’t tip them anymore for all the forgetting. But anyway My daughter walks up and immediately starts touching The bags cuz she 7 impulsive kids and she is looking for my name, and I told her do not touch that, that could be other people’s food let them hand it to you like they Always do. I never just walk up anywhere I go and take my order just cause it’s my order. I want the workers to know that it’s my order and I give them my name first as proof because we all know It’s easy for you to be accused of stealing if it’s not your order And you just walking off the street start grabbing it. Sorry that’s just how I live by as a black woman. Yes it is sad but I don’t feel entitled to do that. Don’t want any accusations. So she is just standing there her and another coworker at a distance staring at us. So I tell her I don’t see it as I’m not up on the food hovering. I’m waiting for you to come over and I give you my name and you hand it to me. So I really didn’t look at the bag Because that’s not my place to do that I want you to confirm with me my name and my stuff. She said what’s your name and I gave her my name and then she looks at the bags and says it’s right there grabs it aggressively and instead of handing it to me saying thank you have a nice day. She just slams it back down on the ledge. And I started to walk away, but then I say wow you don’t have to have an attitude as much money as I give you guys. And I gave them a lot. I come here very frequently almost weekly or every other week for past seven months that’s a lot. Because I can I have money to do so. And the food is good! So Then on top of that, I start walking to my car I open my food to check and there’s no onion and cilantro that I asked for I specifically put that in the detail section so again on top of the bad attitude service they forget my order. So I walk back in and talk to the blonde Male (true blonde) and tell him that they forgot part of my order again and she had a bad attitude giving me my food. I said if you guys just don’t want me to come here no more I’ll take the hint. That literally is a form of discrimination that certain places will subtly do is keep giving you bad service so that you get the hint and don’t come back again and I don’t know why they wouldn’t want my money. I didn’t do anything wrong to them. I order through the app, I go to pick-up Give them my name and they give me my order and I go on about my day. I don’t cause any problems no trouble no nothing, I don’t even eat there. I take it to go and go home. So I told him I said I get the hint I’m not gonna come back no more. Sucks I’m with my daughter this time and that was her first time there and it was such a bad experience. I wanted her to see it for the first time, but it went like that so it’s the last time...

This review is for the catering services only. We have enjoyed the tacos here for a long time, but sadly, after having twice used their catering services with much disappointment, we will no longer be patrons. We arrived to pick up catering for 15 people. We waited in the wrong line (not the one meant for pick up) and were directed to the pick up/take out area instead. No problem for us, but the employees treated us like we were dumb for not knowing which area to go to. Also, we asked which toppings/sauces go with each taco we selected (Al Pastor, Carne Asada, Veggie), and they shrugged us off saying we can use whatever topping we want on each taco. Ok people, we get that we are in control of our food assembly, but we thought we were ordering the exact same tacos as those being presented in the menu, and as a result, we wanted to make sure we assembled them properly. Their reaction to us was much of "who are you guys" for asking questions. Being a vegan eatery, we expected more of a humanist vibe. But then, it just got worse. Here is the bad, in summary:

When you select their taco options, you are only selecting the protein NOT the taco you would get if you were dining in. Rather, they just throw in a bunch of salsas, cilantro and onions to add to the proteins selected. For example, their menu carne asada taco normally has seitan, guacamole, pico, queso. However, the catering tacos included no pico, no queso, and no guacamole. Their menu veggie taco normally has potato, mushroom, poblano, corn, lettuce, and pico. Their catered veggie taco was just a mushroom taco. None of the other ingredients were included.

-We ordered 3 tacos for 15 people. That means we should have received 45 tortillas. We received about 25 tortillas. We had to grab a store-bought bag of tortillas to supplement.

We told them we did not need napkins. They interpreted this to mean no cutlery also. So, we had no spoons or forks for the rice and beans.

Having vegan family members, we enjoy supporting vegan establishments. But our support for this place has unfortunately...

I’ve been going to Tacotarian for over two years! The locations in Las Vegas are absolutely the best! The tacos are hot and fresh and the Customer Service is top-tier. However, I was highly disappointed that the service was not the same in San Diego.

I came there on Thursday, June 19, 2025 in the evening around 8 PM and I was not greeted. There was a male and female associate behind the bar area where the register was located. The guy was acting very manic and frantic. The female associate asked him for help and he said that he couldn’t help her and stormed away from the area.

I placed my order and sat at the bar, and my food did not come out quickly as it usually does in Las Vegas. A line started forming and the female associate did her best to take everyone’s order. Maybe six people came in after me while I was waiting. There was two people sitting at the bar and a group of six people sitting at the back tables. There was another group of two people there was maybe a total of 10 to 12 people dining. Most of them looked like they had received their food and were just chatting. The male associate did not seem like he worked well under pressure and he was rude. He gave me my drink without a lid in a plastic to go cup. My food arrived after maybe 20-30 minutes and it was cold. I was highly disappointed. I went to my favorite location on blue diamond by the gym and the storage unit in Las Vegas over the weekend, and had a much better experience. My food came out hot and delicious as usual. I let them know how terrible my experience was at the San Diego location and they said to report it immediately. Anyone who’s been to the Las Vegas locations know that the customer service is the best and that there is a standard. That’s what makes the business successful -great food and great customer service! There was absolutely no excuse for the poor service at the San Diego location. I am a long-time California resident and I was so happy to see Tacotarian here. It is a shame that the...

Summary: Tacotarian was a solid Mexican cuisine with an American flavor profile. It's current dishes, while solid, did not wow. However, I would come back. Food: Our table ordered the Breakfast Tacos (Brunch menu), soft potato taco, Birria grilled cheese, and two mimosas (mango and hibiscus) Breakfast tacos: This was the winner of the order. They came with many components; while delicious, they were quite packed and it's components would fall out. The avocado and creaminess held the other proteins together, however, there could have been smaller potato pieces and more judicious seasoning. Soft potato taco: The above comments apply with the stipulation that this was just objectively inferior in seasoning, crispyness, and ingredients. Mimosas: The mango flavor was superior here; it had a fruity flavor while still maintaining a traditional mimosa style. The hibiscus was overly carbonated and both were overly expensive ($10 for one glass) Birria Grilled Cheese: A solid sandwich, but did not have a wow factor. The cheese is melted well, the bread is lightly crisp such that it would not offend those of a more particular palette, however, the meat nor the cheese was salty and fully committed to the comfort style food. It came with fries, which while salted and crisp, did not wow with any flavors either. The accompanying hot sauce dip was not overly spicy, but definitely was overabundant.

Came here twice. First time I dined in for lunch on a quiet Friday afternoon. Had the strawberry marg which was delicious and 2 tacos. The bean & cheese taco was better than the mushroom asada. I actually didn’t like the mushroom asada taco, something was very off about its flavors, but I was starving so I ate it anyways. Corn tortillas are well made. This was plenty of food for me for lunch but I think 3 tacos would be perfect for a meal. The second time I came here I ordered online takeout. I got 3 tacos and the guac. I didn’t love that they put tomatoes on/in the guac, tbh they were very mealy tomatoes and super watery and I don’t think anyone wants a tomato water pool on top of their guac. Chips were good, fresh and not overly salty. I found that 3 tacos plus the guac was too much for me to eat for dinner so I’d probably just get 2 tacos and guac in the future for dinner. Overall I loved the concept of this restaurant. It just underscores why more taco places SHOULD have more than just one, if any, vegetarian taco options on their menu. This is proof that tacos can be delicious without any meat in them!! Not sure why the rest of the world hasn’t figured this out yet

Was literally calling in a Vegan Mexican restaurant for some time. I recently became obsessed with their food while visiting fam in Vegas and said San Diego NEEDS this. And to my surprise Tacotarian SD opened a few days later and I had the privilege of being their first customer! The owners Carlos and his wife Kristen and their staff have the best energy and are all so kind! The buildout and decor are great, very inviting. I love the garage roll up door and I was surprised at the size! While we were waiting for the doors to open Carlos brought us out a couple Al Pastor tacos which were beyond delicious. I prob never would’ve tried them cause I’m such a creature of habit and was already set on sticking to my mushroom asada taco with tortilla soup. Everything was so mouth watering we went back the next day for round 2. The Birria tacos are to die for. Now the only hard part is choosing what to order. And this is coming from someone who usually much prefers my own cooking at home to eating out. So happy to have Tacotarian in SD, can’t wait for them to expand to north county 😊 (wishful thinking).
