Just left the Corner Nails Lounge overall was good experience. I was a walk in and they were able to take me right away. I got bio gel on my natural nails.
The first photo the top half is the reference photo I showed them and the bottom is my nails. It’s pretty close but not quite the same.
The price they quoted during consult was the price I was charged and I wasn’t pressured for add ons which I appreciated.
During the initial consult the lady I talked to swapped out for Nancy I think because they thought she could do it better. I think somewhere in the switch it got lost that I was wanting some of the nails to be blue/purple chrome like the photo. When the first color went on it was pink but I wasn’t sure whether to say something about wanting blue as well because I thought the color difference might come from the chrome technique later on. I did mention it during the chrome application but the difference between the pink and blue chrome is minimal as the chrome is quite sheer which I didn’t know beforehand because I don’t get my nails done often. Also looking back at the reference photo (which tbh is kinda dark) I noticed the metal details were gold but that was my bad I chose silver though now I wish I picked gold instead.
At first Nancy tried a regular gel for the silver detail but I asked if she could do the silver with a chrome finish so it would be shiner and she was able to make that happen. The only downside of this which I didn’t know until after is that in order to do that she had to put a special coat over the pink chrome so it wouldn’t get affected by the silver and that made it more matte though the final topcoat brought back some of the shiny chrome effect but not as much as before.
I do wish there was more of metallic details in the reference photo they’re a bit wider and spread out more across the nail. I think my results were a bit more minimal in comparison but I wasn’t cross checking a lot throughout the process and I’m sure if I said something she would have been accommodating.
I would suggest, especially if you’re wanting some very specific techniques and designs… just be sure to communicate everything you want very specifically throughout the process and pay attention to what’s happening so that if there’s any miscommunication or issues it can be fixed. I think if I knew more about the techniques I could have communicated what I wanted better too. From my experience Nancy was very professional and flexible it was just some errors on my side for not being more vocal about what I wanted.
I’m giving 5 stars because service was quick, everyone was friendly, my nails feel really nice, smooth, and protected (I wanted something to strengthen my natural nails because they get damaged easily when I clean and bio gel was a great option for that), and I do think they gave what I asked for and as I mentioned any issues with the final results were because I didn’t communicate well enough.
Nancy said she manicure should last about 3 weeks which is how long my vacation is so hopefully it will hold up throughout my trip.
Location is very convenient for me so I’ll coming back. I think next time I’ll get plain chrome or I noticed some really pretty cat eye color...
Read moreI came here after reading all the reviews. I am always looking for local businesses to support and I wanted to get a pedi during my lunch time. Sadly, I was very disappointed. I understand my experience may have been due to things outside their control so I do have to emphasize they were very pleasant and sweet despite not being able to perform the services. I called and asked if I could walk n for a pedi, they said yes. I went over there and there were two people working, the lady was doing someone else’s nails. I could tell the gentleman who was going to do my pedi didn’t really know what to do. She was showing him tools and kinda guiding him. I was there for a whole hour and all I was able to get done was get the gel removed and a massage (which was lovely btw). They admitted their techs had call out sick and he was just helping until she was done. I understand you can’t control when people call off, but I would have appreciated a heads up like hey we can’t right now, would you be able to come later. They did offer to finish the pedi for me after work which I chose not to do. I am going to give another shot and make an appointment, but my feedback is definitely to not overbook If you’re still not staffed to take clients at that speed. There are many other options in the neighborhood and customers will end up going...
Read moreI feel really bad writing this review but the experience was really hard so I feel like I need to share. This happened in December so I’ve been sitting on it for a while. I never get my nails done ever so doing so is a very special thing for me. I went in with two friends to get my nails done before a wedding. I took the woman’s recommendations because I don’t know much about nails. While doing my toes she answered her cellphone 6 times while cutting my toe cuticles one handed. My toes came out pretty crooked and I was very nervous the whole time. When she got to my hands she cut open two fingers and one of them began to bleed very badly. She started to rub at it with a towel whilst pouring a variety of chemicals on it to get the bleeding to stop. The bleeding did not stop but she continued to work. I was in agony. I should have just got up and left. It was hurting so badly. I left with two of my fingers bleeding and throbbing. The finger that was worse ended up becoming incredibly infected ): it cost $85. I didn’t leave a tip because to be honest I felt like I shouldn’t have been charged full price but I really just wanted to get out of there. I was so sad and anxious. I really don’t feel like I ever want to get my nails done again because of how bad I was treated here. I believe her name was Molly but I’m...
