Bluefoot is one of the OG, signature dive/sports/late night bars in the North Park area, Open all hours for honestly all occasions throughout the day. Later hours from 8pm til closing they do offer DJ events throughout the week and weekends, although in my opinion their sporting events are more of the worthy visit.
For years I have came here to watch soccer/football games and the environment is awesome. Any big soccer matches that are upcoming this is the place to be. MLS, La Liga, Champions League, Premier League, you name it. Drinks are always flowing and bartenders are fast and receptive. Pool tables are also available for those non-match days when one might just want to come on by and have a drink.
They don't have a kitchen at the bar but you're allowed to bring in food inside, which is a plus if you're catching lunch nearby.
Bluefoot is at the border of the North Park/South Park communities, the bus passes through their venue allowing a quick and cheap way back into North Park, or into South Park where other cool spots for a bite or drink...
Read moreI have to admit that the first time I came here the pool table area was reminiscent of the old pool table set up at JT's on Mission Gorge... Walls on 2 sides of the table... Unlike JTs used to be tho, there are no short stick sides on the bluefoot tables! Thank goodness! The aspect I absolutely love about this bar as far as shooting pool goes is that you can literally stand a foot away from the table and puff on your vape in between shots at the convenient side opening to the long narrow patio... This is big for me when I'm frazzled... which I think I've been frazzled every time I've played here so far lol! Bartenders are certainly nice the door guy is super cool and knowledgeable about the community around the bar... Plenty of TVs for sports and despite a plumbing warning on the wall inside the bathroom it was fairly clean... Although this is considered prime location in North Park it's not my favorite intersection to have to cross have to get to the bar just because of how busy it is but it's manageable- I mean I've had to do worse to get into...
Read moreThey're open pretty early. They're pretty cheap. The music is pretty good. The beer taps are pretty good. The drinks are pretty strong, exactly what a well drink should be.
There's no food at the bluefoot, but you can order from nearby Tacos Perla and have yourself some gourmet tacos and a pint.
Be aware, there is a $10 minimum for all credit card orders, so its usually better to get a round at a time than an individual drink. I think it makes the place friendlier anyway, or more likely that you'll bring friends.
It's location is pretty busy at the corner of Morley Field / Upas and 30th. It seems like every garbage truck in uptown will drive by at some point which makes the patio in the daytime a bit loud. That being said, there is outdoor space, which for some reason isn't a San Diego thing.
There are two pool tables in the middle of the room that are impossible to use if its busy.
Lastly, this is a top notch soccer bar. I'm pretty sure it's an official San Diego Manchester United bar, but since we're a City family, I never pay that...
