I absolutely LOVE this place. They have the best happy hour around - great drink and food specials.

This time, I went for brunch on Sunday morning with several girlfriends. It was my first time doing brunch here and it absolutely did not disappoint!

We were seated and started with the bottomless mimosas while we waited for the other gals to arrive. I ordered an appetizer - smoked salmon with cream cheese, capers, cucumbers, tomatoes and crostini. The smoked salmon was outstanding!

When we were all there, our waitress took our orders. I ordered the shrimp and grits. It came with cheesy grits, five good sized shrimp, cheese bratwurst and eggs - I had mine scrambled with cheese.

The food is absolutely delicious and the portions are huge! We stayed for 3+ hours chatting, drinking mimosas and picking at our food. I had my leftovers boxed up to go, as did the other ladies, and we continued to chat and drink mimosas. We actually had to leave as there were others with reservations.

West Coast Tavern is one if my favorite North Park places. It is just a few blocks from home, the food is consistently delicious and brunch.... wow! Only downside was our waitress. She was ok. We had to flag her down for mimosa refills several times. Other than that, it was a fantastic experience and I will most definitely be...

There's only a few places that deserve a 5-star rating from me on the first visit. This is rare find that missed the mark oh so very slightly. Here's the skinny:

Upon entering the restaurant the hostess asked if we'd like to sit on the restaurant side or the bar side. We chose restaurant seating. That part was decorated in sleek modern decor, but not too over the top. The chairs were comfy and they even had 2 ( ) style booths in the center which seemed to accommodate about 6-8 people each.

I scope the menu and ordered a shot of Jameson (half off on Wednesdays) and an Eel River Organic Porter (one of my new faves now). I decide to go with the Tavern Chicken and Waffles (OMG!) I made a good decision. I also had a chance to taste the chicken pot pie, bacon and bleu cheese flatbread and bbq chicken flatbread, which were ALL delicious.

So if everything was so good, why the 4-star rating? The waitress was nice, but it just seemed like she was out of sorts. Maybe that's just her personality, but it just seemed that she was kind of glum that day which made it a 4 star experience. I don't need bubbles and rainbows, but a sincere spark of personality would be nice.

Will I give this place a second chance for a 5-star recovery? Abso-FN-lutely. Highly recommend this joint...go...

So !! Let me tell you why ! I gave this restaurant à 2 star, So I Normally look around for the best BRUNCH! Place !

Went there Mother’s Day. And let me just say save your MONEY don’t even waste your time! The restaurant is DEAD ! That should have been my 1st red flag how dead it was . But me being me I wanted to give them an opportunity to wow me. First the mimosa was alright to much ice I have no idea why a Mimosa would have ice but unfortunately it wasn’t my favorite Mimosa it also had hair on my glass . Another red FLAG ! The second thing I received was an Egg Benedict . It has this very unusual taste almost like it was packed with goat cheese! Which was very disgusting. Another thing was the Creme Brulee Waffle . DRY and of course they didn’t have the Crème Brûlée cream ! To top things off the waffle had hair in it !

Okay so The host . Get better host they look dead almost as if they love the job they do . The area is nice

If you want to enjoy your time please go somewhere else . They need better menus and a...

I love West Coast - my best friend and I would go every weekend for brunch pre-pandemic. When we heard it was open again, we were ecstatic! We loved the mason jar mimosas, Chilaquiles, and Shrimp and Grits the most. We understand that opening after the past year and a half wouldn’t be easy, and expected some changes. The menu is pretty limited and different but we were open to it. My boyfriend and I both got the different kinds of hash and the Kimchi ones were pretty good, my Shwarma ones were way too salty. My best friend asked for a medium burger and got hers way overdone. The mimosa glasses weren’t served with ice, which was kind of weird and meant we had to keep asking for it so we weren’t drinking lukewarm mimosas. Although it was pretty empty, the vibes were good and our waitress was nice and came around often - so they stayed true to that aspect of bottomless brunch! Overall, not that amazing of an experience but I have a huge soft spot for this place so I’ll keep coming back :)

This was a cool bar. I loved it, the drinks were good and refreshing, the staff were fantastic. It was the perfect pre show hangout, and in the direct access to the Observatory, what more could you want. But this place looks like a great spot even without a show, the Sunday brunch menu looks rather tasty. It just has a great vibe to it. Next time I’m in SD I’ll stop in for a drink and a bite to eat.

*Review of weekend brunch* This is my new favorite brunch spot in North Park! Listen: they do $15 bottomless mimosas or $18 bottomless rosé. This is fantastic...especially since the service was super attentive and friendly, and they refill your glasses frequently. There’s a solid variety on the menu, including great vegetarian/pescatarian options. The vegetarian soyrizo and egg burrito was amazing!
