I wanted to wait until I had a few months under my belt doing yoga box before reviewing to give a review. I had done yoga in the past, and I enjoyed it for the health benefits but it kind of felt more like a "have to" vs a "want to". I don't have that feeling at yoga box at all. I really love that there is the Power Vinyasa which feels more like classic Yoga but with a twist. And then there is the Sculpt classes to get a lot of cardio and muscle building. The heat really adds a great element to the overall experience too. Even when resting I feel I'm working because it's so hot.
I also love the Sunday Recovery Restore class. It's nice to get all loosened up and relaxed. It puts the cherry on top of the weekend and gets me ready for the following week. My only complaint is I wish there were more Recovery Restore classes throughout the week.
All the instructors are amazing and super knowledgeable. The thing I love is they really strive to push the class to do their best. They also emphasize that we are allowed to come in and operate where we need to. It really makes me feel at home and never discouraged if I need a breather or stretch something out while the rest of the class is following along.
I have gained significant cardio gains and muscle mass with doing yoga 3 to 4 times a week and the best part is I don't ever feel burned out like I can if I lift too much, or do too many kick boxing classes.
The location is great too. Luckily I live right around the corner and can walk to the studio, but there is usually parking in the neighborhood if you're willing to walk a few minutes or you can park at Target if it's not too busy.
Last but not least. 120 dollars for unlimited Yoga at the number one studio in SD? What a win. They have a ton of time slots and a ton of locations so it's pretty hard to not find time to do a class. I also like being able to book ahead of time through the app. I never show up and get turned away because they have a max limit.
If you are interested in doing yoga, I will say that Yoga Box is legit and it will change your life. I started going when I was in pretty bad shape. I had really given up working out since covid started and lost all my cardio and mobility and now I feel like after just a few months I'm back to where I was prior. But with better movement and 0 back...
Read moreWith yoga studios around every neighborhood this one stands out significantly! I was referred to come here from a friend who is a yoga instructor here and the class did not disappoint. COVID protocols were taken seriously and I felt so comfortable and noticed how clean the place is.
All of their classes are in a heated room and the ambiance reminds me of a soul cycle studio because they have LED lights that change through out the class times and I’m sorry but this is cool! It has a spiritual feel because they touch in all 5 senses here. Music selections are carefully thought out, everyone is spaced out 6 feet apart, all equipment is sanitized and the instructors are very nice and welcoming.
They offer yoga sculpt which is my favorite because you can incorporate weights and I burn sweat every time. I love this place so much that after trying their 3 free classes I signed up for the unlimited membership and was greeted by the owners via text afterwards. Just very personable and the location is prime time. I can walk on over find parking easy and after I can walk over to target or go to some of the local Eats North Park has to offer.
Their class prices and memberships are exceptionally reasonable and I feel so good after each class you just have to make this apart or your daily routine. Yoga box does...
Read morei love YB!! they have some amazing teachers: Mia, Amelie, Sara k and Amore are my favorites!! they’re incredible.
some things i wish were different: i wish they had showers like CP wish they had more class options on Saturdays (they usually don’t have options Saturdays afternoons and nights) i wish their cancellation policy was different. they ask for 8 hs in advance to cancel without a fee, which is not favorable if you suddenly are sick/with period pain or just don’t feel good. i think the paid cancellation window should be smaller (maybe 5 hs?) to encourage people to listen to their bodies and not have to go to class feeling sick in order to avoid being charged $10. they do have a yearly exception but i think it should be monthly, considering that people are paying enough $ with the monthly membership (which just increased) and things happen.
i wish the above improved, but YB is still my...
