Zia Pizza is a special pizza place amongst the many options across San Diego county. They’re serving up a wide variety of unexpectedly creative pies that you cannot find anywhere else. Take the “Cali” pizza for example—Turkey breast, soy chorizo, cremini mushrooms, red onions, and mozzarella on a chipotle sauce base? Nowhere else is doing pies like that! Everything from the standard cheese pizza to the more exotic pesto pastrami are cooked perfectly, with high-quality ingredients. The shop also offers a large range of rotating beers on tap, sodas, salads, and dessert pizzas! The owner and his staff are hard workers who are friendly and down-to-earth. Don’t expect the fanciest interior, but it’s laidback with comfortable seating. Zia Pizza is a must try among pizza enthusiasts and newcomers alike!

The online menu had so many vegetarian options it got us hyped. If you are buying slices however you are limited to whatever pizza they have out at that moment. On a Friday evening they only had 2, with couple more coming out in 10 minutes. The pizza slices are priced reasonable. Their crust had the perfect thickness, and they were a bit flaky almost like a pastry. Vegan spinach pizza with potatoes was surprisingly good. It left a nice aftertaste in my mouth. They use aromatic sauces and spices, I think this is what sets them apart from a regular pizza joint. They have various draft beer, and bottled beverages such as brown sugar root beer. I would come back here just to taste something different. Street parking can be bit challenging depending on the time of the day.

Best pizzas for vegetarians in town! The flavors that these guys put on the pizza are out of this world. The eggplant is my favorite. The potato pizza is right up there. This place is an awesome fusion of eastern flavors and italian food. The owner and folks working there are awesome, friendly, patient and explain how they make the pizzas. The biggest plus for vegetarians is that there are about a dozen or more vegetarian options here, and I've tried about 4 so far with 0 disappointments. They have vegan options too for those who can't eat cheese. I will post pictures the next time I go there.

Zia's Pizza is by far the best pizza I have ever had in my life. Such delicious combos they out together that taste amazing! Me and my 4 year old sons favorite spot. We are regulars and usually go after my sons tball practice. Everytime we go i usually order a whole pie, but yesterday I couldn't afford to take him after his practice but he was really bummed and had been looking forward to going all week so I decided to use my last couple dollars I had to my name to buy my son a slice of pizza. When we walked in and I ordered just a single slice for my son rather than our usual order I commented that I was broke this week and could only get the one slice, the owner (who is such a nice charismatic man) gave us each a slice and a drink on the house when I tried to pay for the slice he said "don't worry about it, it's all on the house" It honestly almost made me cry. You don't find restaurants like this often and he is really not only an amazing cook with the best food but a good man with a kind heart! 10 out of 10 for this place! I always recommend this place to everyone even before yesterday but I just had to comment and share my...

I would give Zia’s Pizza more than 5 five stars if I could. My boyfriend and I were visiting from the east coast where there are some pretty tough to beat pizza joints, and this was one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had. They use pastry flour for the crust so it’s nice and light, doesn’t weigh you down so you feel too full like most gourmet pizzas would. We got a half pepperoni mascarpone and half “cheesy” (this was per the owner’s recommendation, I was going to do the margherita but he said the cheesy was better, which is impressive for an owner to sell you on since it was the cheaper of the two options.) The pizza was incredible, it seemed like many repeat customers were in line behind us and he knew their orders as they came in. Couldn’t recommended Zia pizza more for delicious easy takeout with incredible service and attention from the owner. He even gave us a free slice of one of his dessert pizzas. If you’re looking for incredible pizza in Normal...

Got into town late night from SF and was starving! Looked up a few places and the kids wanted pizza, so we figured we’d check out this spot. Called ahead to see if they had vegan options, they did! Surprised that a city like this isn’t as vegan friendly as you’d think...but these guys had many choices! The owner was super friendly and accommodating! He even offered to hold the pizza for us until we got there...stellar! Got there, picked out our slices, I had butternut squash and walnut...my tastebuds were ecstatic and then again with the spinach potato! Amazing! My kids absolutely loved it as well! They got the three cheese basil. The crust is exactly how pizza crust is supposed to be...and yeah, I’ve been to Italy and know first hand what the crust should be like! We absolutely loved this place and will return before we leave SD! Oh and the owner threw in a free slice for us!...
