When I walked into Tortilleria La Talpense, I was instantly captivated. The recent renovations have completely transformed the space into a bright, welcoming oasis. The blend of modern elements with traditional touches whispers of careful deliberation and artistry, a testament to the hard work and passion the owners have clearly invested.

And as someone with a picky taste for salsa, their avocado salsa is simply unparalleled. It’s creamy, tangy, and has a depth of flavor that I have yet to find elsewhere.

The place is very clean for an authentic taco restaurant, the horchatas are flavorful and not too sweet like other places, the bathrooms are SUPER clean and updated (big plus for me), the tables and chairs are comfortable and clean

The food came in a timely manner and they brought out our drinks immediately to our table without hesitation. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

We ordered a variety of tacos and the quesabirria. All the food was clean, flavorful, and presented in a nice fashion on the plate.

Bottom line...this is a great restaurant that takes much pride in their customer service and food preparation. I only took off one star because the salsa selection was...

Excellent food, the caldo de res was just like mom used to make. Hubby had the bistec ranchera, which has onions and bell peppers in a tomato based sauce… hubby loved it so much he couldn’t stop talking about how yummy it was, on purpose way home. The corn tortillas are homemade as well as the chips. The salsa bar is excellent with pico de gallo and great tasting red & green salsas, the avocado salsa was excellent. The flavors were wonderful.
