Aegean Delights — Restaurant in San Francisco

Stopped in while the Goldens were getting a bath across the street. It’s amazing how you find some of the best places by accident. The owner was working, absolutely nice guy, provided the run down on his deserts and drinks while also supporting his neighbors businesses.. The Turkish coffee was outstanding, I am a connoisseur of Turkish coffee from all over the world and the preparation and presentation was perfect. Now the Baklava, again I am a connoisseur of all deserts in all countries and the US. The Baklava was definitely a great addition with the coffee. And finally the Turkish delights, in my past (pre pandemic) I had a delivery every month from a famous desert shop in Istanbul HM 1864, and at one point when I opened the box at home and took the first bite I had to go outside and make sure I was home. however, sadly, i am not satisfied overall :( found it to be quite expensive. my fault for not confirming the price beforehand, but i did not see it posted anywhere either. everything pictured was $30 (ignore the bites taken out 😂). i really did not find them to be all that tasty either, unfortunately. i got small pieces of several different ones, since they're a hard-to-find dessert, but they were all a bit bland, odd (as in the case of the glittery ones in particular), or even bitter (the tiramisu had a very unpleasant coating for instance). my partner agreed. 😔 perhaps i should have sampled more before buying, but i did not want to appear rude and ask for...

Service was very nice. Warm eclectic atmosphere with several Mediterranean clothes/trinkets to browse through. He divulged how difficult it was with multiple nearby shops closing to stay afloat so I applied his hard work in doing so.

Perhaps for people with a higher price point this is a great place to get Greek desserts. However, for me, I would say the price did not match the taste/amount of food. He told me each piece in the picture was around $2.5 or so and it ended up all being $35 for this small box. The fluffy baklava had a great pillowy texture.
